Fenriz himself says that he doesn't consider these albums crust influenced and has on many occasions said that the press were the ones who played up the crust punk thing
These albums are influenced by punk, just not what Fenriz considers as crust punk
In one interview he said His Hero Is Gone brought the idea of combining metal and punk to more mainstream attention which is maybe why people consider Darkthrone's metalpunk albums to be crust
|
| |
There's another interview somewhere where he says that crust punk should sound like Amebix and that these albums do not at all sound like Amebix
All paraphrasing here but like Fenriz is definitely not the dude claiming these are crust influenced.

But of course the easiest way to figure out if these are crusty or not is to use your ears

^ Oh yes, 'Raised On Rock' has pretty cool lyrics.
"Modern metal I don't give a fuck
UH! I was raised on rock"

Punk =/= crust
|

that wasnt the topic anymore
|

If I misunderstood the topic from two comments ago, I apologise, sorry that you had to read my reply and waste that energy
|
| |
yeah he listens to punk but probably not the punk you'd expect, i think he sees punk as just primitive music in general, like that rock n roll gas station song, remember that video?
|
| |
Fenriz seems to like punk that has a strong metal influence, like His Hero is Gone
