listening to the first song again now. can't help but laugh my ass off. this album is so frustrating because the music is sometimes beautiful but the vocals are embarrassingly shit

i can understand this not being for everyone, but what is wrong with songs like height down, lifes a bath, and a fall through the ground?

no way those dogshit, and they are miles ahead of anything that was on lulu

lifes a bath is okay, don't remember the others. the only songs that were somewhat decent are like 1 min long lol. 90% of this is disposable trash.

"i can't believe anyone who says this is good. this is lulu levels of lolbad. dogshit album."

lol ffs, without wanting to come off as overly agressive dude, just accept that this is not your thing and move on, instead of saying stupid shit like "contender for worst album ever?".

How is that stupid? I think this is a fine contender. If this is art then anyone with a case of beer and shitty recorder can be an artist, just blather on incoherently and occasionally scream and sing out of tune all the time.

why exactly would this not classify as art?

How is this less artistic than those 'ambiental/drone' records where they play one loop throughout the whole album?

Just saying, any jackass can shout into a mic and ramble like an idiot. Makes me think someone could compose an album of farts and you would say it's great

if you come to this album looking for "good" vox it's not gonna be your thing. objectively by most peoples standards the vocals are awful, but i still find them to be honest and actually pretty good at times, especially on the tracks I mentioned earlier.

any jackass can shout into a mic and ramble like a idiot, but very few can craft instrumentation and atmosphere like this. The vocals are just part of this album, sometimes they shine in a melodic way, and other times they are used almost like a abstract instrument to accompany the rest of the music.

john was drugged out an grieving the death one of his best friends during these sessions and his pain seeps into these songs. I feel like he's inviting listeners in to go through the loss with him regardless of how bleak things get.

that's what makes this album amazing to me and why i consider it a piece of art.
