'Axe' is somewhat similar (IN FEEL AND MOOD) to 'Ful Stop' but imo a decent shade better too, another stunner that one
it also has the same sort of natty ethno percussion sampling from The Numbers
Seems like I'm attracted to the most Radiohead-y reinterpreted tunes and others are attracted to the more Boards of Canada-y stuff (which I also like too but maybe not quite as much)
I'm really surprised this new one is so good though

New one is really solid, nothing impressed me as much as the vocal songs from Suspiria but it's a stronger album than this or Boxes. My favs on first listen are Twist, Dawn Chorus, Rude Person, and The Axe.

I rate this a little ahead of Suspiria I guess, not that they’re so easy to compare.
The unified feel, the flow, that’s all spot on.
The big thing though, and what surprised me, Is that he's finally shook that damn ‘solo project’ feel you get (like on the Eraser). This album sounds as fleshed out as a Radiohead release, or a James Blake or Bon Iver or whoever brings the production chops.

love Runwayaway, probably my favorite on the new one

Runaway is brilliant, yes. The Aex is up there too.

If you want some Thom Yorke vocal prettiness check the new Sebastian Field on Bandcamp - absolutely stunning at times

The sounds on here are better than In Rainbows.

It's underrated by a smidgen, the new one surpasses it though. No bloody way is it better than In Rainbows (although that seems like a weird comparison anyway).
Also it's an old comment, but this... 'If you want some Thom Yorke vocal prettiness check the new Sebastian Field on Bandcamp - absolutely stunning at times' (3)

In Rainbows is the album after this one. This is an album by Thom Yorke. (member of english band Radiohead btw)

Very funny. Not everything he produces (across different projects) needs to be directly compared, especially when it doesn't sound that alike. Sure, it might work under some circumstances, but the context for comparison in your above comment is missing.

Why does it not need to be compared?
And I don't see how this doesn't sound like Radiohead or why it would matter if it didn't.

I'm probably just irked by your lowly rating whilst simultaneously declaring it better than IR - should know your rating tendencies better by now I guess.

Just bought this on vinyl yesterday at a January sale
Had to bump up my rating. Despite the skeletal af sound, these songs are actually rich and fantastic

Don't know what happened to my taste, but this does more for me than any Radiohead album atm
