“lives are too good for them to call it quits”
My position on it — they should have continued playing live, but sacked off recording new albums. Maybe branch out with the odd EP to curb the urges.
Unrealistic expectations for sure, but man, what a way to end on writing albums haha.

The frustrating thing here is that there are some fucking brilliant songs on here, it’s just marred with a lot of meh/ok material

idk they should just get the bag however they gotta do it. album releases are probably just the most sure-fire way to get more people interested in a tour

Agreed, it's not like they're putting out St Anger level clunkers (however this album has a bunch of m i d). They have also made shit songs in studio amazing in a live setting before (Hydra, R to the Core, Fatal Believer etc). I'm just down for the ride.

i don't really understand the desire for bands to stop making music anyway. if i don't care for it i will stop listening to it

The Oboro performance on Last Days of Studio Coast
Holy shit.

"They have also made shit songs in studio amazing in a live setting before"
Some songs end up coming more to life in a live setting that can't be captured in a studio recording.

I only listened to this once : (

>The Oboro performance on Last Days of Studio Coast

>I only listened to this once : (

listened to this probably about 50 times but yea its not their greatest for sure. Opener and closer are KILLER tho and worth the price of admission alone
|

I’ll revisit those two because I genuinely don’t remember

just gone back to this this morning and it's still a great record. holding up much better than TIW did with time.

Will be cool when the latest Blu Ray is online so we can finally see more songs from this live. Still gotta watch their 25th anniversary christ I am behind.
|
| |
So I watched the Phalaris live DVD...
It did not disappoint, contender for the best Kyo live performance ever. Great show. If anyone hasn't watched a show since the Phalaris bonus Blu Ray, make this your next one. Hibiki, Utsutsu, and Mouai were dramatically improved and 13/Otogi were instant classic performances.

Just listened to Yokan and Cage remakes and fuck me, the production is a disaster. Feel like they’re outwardly opting for the worst engineers possible at this point.
Yokan isn’t as bad but Cage, hellfire.
