idk i'm starting to like Colour of Love. i know it's not a great song and it's cheesy, but it kinda works for me, and it's one of their most energetic tracks since like, Superchrist.

Yeah they're growing me a ton, "Cyr" is the best pop song he's written in a while

Anyone hear the two songs they released today? Cyr and The Colour of Love. Nothing special. Not bad but they sound basically like outtakes from this album. Very similar sound. I’m assuming they’ll end up on the next album.

Edit: seems I’m very behind lol. The songs were discussed starting a week ago. Sorry guys, I haven’t been on sputnik lately and been very preoccupied with some life situations. I hate life situations.

Yeah they've been growing on me a bit, Cyr is really cheesy but pretty catchy and Colour of Love is one of the better SP2 singles I can think of actually. I don't mind this direction, feels like a continuation of the post-Mellon Collie sound (Eye/TEITBITE, not as good though) mixed with some Future Embrace vibes.

Two new songs... idk, man. Confessions is just not doing it for me, Wrath is okay.

All four songs released have been from side A, so I'm holding out hope that each side has its own kind of style and it's not synth pop the whole way through. No particular indication of that though, just a hunch.

i think it would be worse if they did one side synth the other side guitars because that just gives Billy more ways to fuck it all up lol

Sincerely hope we don't get Billy playing synthpop for 20 songs using Jimmy Chamberlin as a drum machine

Corgan said on IG there are multiple styles on the record. We'll see though.

Anno Satana is actually quite the banger. I've got some hope that it'll be a solid album at least, and I'm definitely psyched for the planned Mellon Collie sequel

Two more new songs released last night. Pretty bad. Wouldn’t be surprised if Cyr ends up being their worst album to date. Yet another disappointment.

Practically half the album is released and maybe 3 of them are actually good/great, the rest is bland electro-pop and the whole direction is just really underwhelming and a step back for them. like who the fuck asked for a whole double album of songs like this LOL, ugh

"Hey guys let's bring back Iha and Chamberlin, such a great guitarist and drummer!"

*Makes three fucking albums with barely any guitars and programmed beats*

Fuck you Billy.

Yeah it's lame. Marchin' On, Silvery Sometimes and Solara are all really solid though.

Yeah I still dig Solara and Silvery Sometimes - I remember they were the first two songs released so I was quite hyped for this, then I discovered the rest was pretty rubbish.

I can't help but feel like I've listened to every single so far numerous times, and outside of Colour of Love, they all sound the same. Bland as toast, too. Purple Blood is just more of the same.

Also the Purple Blood "single" has ten songs and is 36 minutes long now. How much album is left unheard?
