yep. plus traveling to see a band can be pretty fun.

yea when I was in Florida as a teenager with freedom and a car I traveled to Georgia and farther to see bands I loved. I knew bands had it rough or hated to dip down into Miami so I did my part to get as close to them as they were gonna get close to me.
now as an adult with no fear of having to go to school the next morning and able to stay post-show to hangout and drink after making the effort to drive/fly makes it all worthwhile.

I’ve actually been thinking about doing that for awhile, it’s be much easier for me to do that now than the last few years would’ve been.

yeah man pick a city that the band is playing that you also wouldn't mind fucking around in for a couple days and do it

Usually what I do is I pick a festival with a killer lineup that I would actually like to see and travel there. I went to Atlanta several years ago because Thrice, Cave In, Modern Life is War and a whole bunch of other amazing bands were on the bill. Perfect opportunity to travel to the other side of the country!

Sounds like an amazing lineup despite the fact I could never get into Thrice.

They're my favorite band and at the time, I wasn't sure if they were ever going to tour again or if they would just be that band that does one off shows here and there. Seeing the rest of the lineup made it a no brainer

I'd love to see Cave In or Modern Life is War along with these guys. Sadly, I don't see Cave In touring at all in the future after Caleb's death which still is something I have yet to sink in.

They posted a picture recently of the three members sitting in their practice space (?) so who knows if they will continue or not. I will say that they will never be the same without Caleb though and I'm so glad I got to see Cave In with everyone present. Old Man Gloom plan to continue and I'm really hoping they recruit Brodsky for the job because he did a truly wonderful job during the tribute set.

I would love to hear some Brodsky screams in Old Man Gloom

He sang on a couple of songs and he crushed it. He was so in the zone.

Calebs harsh vocals were some of my favorite in metalcore along with his tasty basslines. I'm so sad for his passing and it's one of the first musician deaths in a long time that really hit hard with me.

Caleb and Bowie are the only musician deaths to have ever hit me hard, so I'm right there with you ♥
