@Wildcardbitchesss It's very subtle. I'll share a screenshot from Audacity audio editor. The file above is the m4a file of the remaster. You can tell its been decompressed, while the file below is the m4a file of the original album version. You can see how there isn't any "white" or clear spaces on the edges of the wavelength in the original "A Looking In View". That means there is noise and that is where the brickwalling comes from: https://i.postimg.cc/0yKP5gkR/Screenshot-121.png
I actually noticed the difference with "Acid Bubble", it sounds huge on the remaster. And then I noticed with the rest of the songs.
Btw I can also link the Facelift and Dirt remasters if anyone is interested. The Dirt remaster wasn't so bad after all. Someone mentioned the original version sounds a bit outdated and I can see his point after relistening the remaster. I can say 100% tho the Facelift remaster is the best and was very necessary.

wow you can actually hear the hi-hat properly reverberate instead of being garbled over by the bass+bass drum bombast
the lead vocals are cleaner, and also the guitar leads are so much easier to pick out (!)

^title track is one of my favs here. actually the bookends are quite great, it's just that everything between doesn't flow well.
I altered the tracklist like this and flows a lot better to me:
1. The One You Know
2. Rainier Fog
3. So Far Under
4. Drone
5. Fly
6. Red Giant
7. Deaf Ears Blind Eyes
8. Maybe
9. Never Fade
10. All I Am

I disliked the tracklisting as well. Red Giant in particular does feel much more appropriate in the second half.

one of these days i'll revisit this but i recall it boring me and lacking the feel I got from Black Gives Way to Blue and the Layne albums.

banana is the goat for sending the remasters, much appreciated mate! they really bring out some of the licks that were lost in those brickwalled originals
They didn't change my opinion on the albums much though unfortunately. Black Gives Way to Blue is still a 4 for me (maybe it got an additional .2 actually if I could rate it that way) and The Devil Put Dinosaurs here is still boring for the most part, might even drop it to a 3 since it's significantly worse than BGWTB for me.
That being said, Rainier Fog has the best song out of all of the 3 albums in All I Am, and I wish they made another one with just a little less dad rock chugging and chorus sing-alongs and more interesting songwriting. Also I feel like they should let DuVall get more lead vocal tracks, he's just straight up better than Jerry and fits better with their sound, though I want Jerry to have his moments like he does on All I Am
