from cover photo, to logo, to unconvetional track order, to big hit singles, state of the art production and inhuman perfomance from Seb... pure classic

yeah man this record went, and still goes, so hard.....i warped the shit out of the cassette when this bad boy came out

Not as hard classic as the sequel. Bach and crew do what they do, but this is still fairly paint by numbers sometimes.

Not even comparable for me

I agree, Slave to the Grind was a quantum leap over this, which is why I have a hard time thinking of this as anything more than a solid but unspectacular album.
|

I like Slave to the Grind a bit better than this, but nowhere near a quantum leap

Sitar bro, you obviously didn't live through it at the time. This record was huuuuuuge. Video airplay of Youth Gone Wild, 18 & Life, and I Remember You just catapulted this to a different level. This is obviously more glammy which is why Slave translates better today, so I definitely understand why so many prefer Slave over this. But when Slave came out, bands like this were already on the decline. Great album though, I love that one too.
But this is one of the very best glam metal records ever and emits ridiculous levels of filth, whereas on Slave, they were changing their sound.
