if the toothfairy is a whore, then god is a twat, which makes christians prostitutes?

It's fine, you don't like it, it's good to have different opinions, because otherwise we would just be... lame.

I agree with Smileyface in that the world would be pretty dang borin' if everyone agreed and thought Fortress was "da shiz". Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Fortress as much as the next Protest fan but it's good to have varying opinions.
As much as I thought the review was a tad bit childish, you did have a few points which I agreed with and few points which I didn't agree with, but hey, that's what makes us human right?
Overall it was a decent read. Definitely made the last half hour of work enjoyable.

Now this is a good review. But you are still a cunt and I'm posting my first review in a while soon.

Religion is a lie and a joke.
I love Roddy, and Im not going to tear apart this review, but why care about the lyrics so much?

Religion is a lie and a joke.
Try going back and noticing how I was the first one to bash religion. It had nothing to do with that, his joke was stupid.
why care about the lyrics so much?
Because they are a. terrible b. cliche c. bad at forming the so-called "concept" or "concepts" supposedly behind this disc.

and even then, 95% of this is fairly well written. it's mostly your arguments and the actual CONTENT of the review that attracts all the negative nancy comments.
You could write about anything and as long as you've used grammar and punctuation it would be well-written. If the content is shit, so is the review.

Yeah too bad the content isn't shit and just because I put forth "subjective" arguments (unlike all the other arguments on every review on this site) doesn't mean they're bad.

Talk about low standards. But hey since grammar and punctuation= good writing I guess we were all wrong about that William Faulkner guy. This Message Edited On 07.03.08

subjective arguments aren't always bad, just in the fashion you did them, proven when you yourself took out the first paragraph when you realized it was senseless bashing

^That proves nothing but that people were telling me that it would be a good review without the first paragraph or that if I didn't rid of it it was neg worthy.

*sigh*
When you have an arrogant jerk like the band's lyricist/bassist saying things like the quote I give at the beginning of the review, pretending to be all philosophical, you expect some damn good lyrics. It's actually arguable whether rock lyrics should really be so pretentious anyway, but be that as it is; the simple fact is that these lyrics actually cover pretty simplistic, typical metal tripe only dressed in seemingly intelligent wording.
That is why these lyrics suck. Basically, exactly what I said in the review.
Basically, I don't pretend that bands like say, PATD since I get criticized for liking them so much, is the best thing since Yeats. Then again neither do they. They just write fun, witty, catchy lines, and effectively so.

protest's lyrics aren't serious. you know this right
|

Album Rating: 2.0
^Yes I know they try and cover up for the awfulness of it, claiming it's not serious. But can you tell that listening to the music? And if it's not serious, why make a quote like the one I gave? They try to have it both ways, and in doing so suck either way.
