Shortly After Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica in 1983, he created Megadeth. He made this band mostly because he wanted revenge on Metallica but it became so much more. The band was made up out of two jazz/fusion musicians (which gave a unique feel to there music) and David Ellefson (a fellow metalhead). This is one of their most overlooked albums mainly because of Peace Sells and R.I.P. So here it goes their first album.

I hear the production quality is shatty on the original, but luckily I dont have it I have the remastered version.

1. Last Rites/Loved to Death
The first song to kick off the album. The intro starts off with a piano and then the bass comes in. Then in comes the riff and a scream from Dave M. This is a personal favorite. The lyrics simply put are: Boy meets girl, Boy falls in love with girl, Girl doesn’t love boy, and Boy kills girl. A great way to start off this album 5/5

2. Killing is My Business...and Business is good
The title track to this album. Actually based on the comic the punsisher. In which there is an assassin who ironically kills his boss. This song got me listening to the album more and more. The guitar riff is broken into two separate sections and so are the vocals. So like normal, the title track is an extremely kicka** song. 5/5

3. The Skull Beneath the Skin
This song is about Vic, the mascot of Megadeth. It is about Vic getting sacrificed in a ritual. The guitar riffing is very progressive to reflect on the darkness of the song and its context. Although I don’t think its as good as the last song it’s still great and I love the intro. 4/5

4. Rattlehead
A thrash classic. The guitar intro and riff is so great. Its pure speed metal, nothing more nothing less. Chris Poland Plays solo fills after each verse. This is a personal favorite (which by the way I have a lot of) Great drumming too. It is the equivalent of Whiplash, but far better. 5/5

5. Chosen Ones
Its amazing how this song is actually about Monty Python and the holy grail. It is about the Killer rabbit infront of the cave. This song is calmer than most early Megadeth songs. Its even got a nifty little bass solo which is sweet. 4/5

6. Looking Down the Cross
What a amazing song. What a masterpiece. Everything about this song is ace. The guitar is perfect, the drums are perfect, the bass is perfect, the vocals are perfect. This song is about The Last Temptation of Christ and What Jesus was thinking. The guitar in the beginning is very sad and is built up to an evil epilogue. And I still can’t emphasize how great Gars is in this song. I love the part when Dave sings “Looking down the Cross" and Dave E sings back" speak no evil". My favorite Megadeth song of all time. Easily a 5/5 :thumb:

7. Mechanix
Was originally on the Metal Massacre demo while Dave M was still in Metallica. Metallica turned theres into the Four Horesemen. Most people think Megadeth ripped Metallica off when in truth it is vise versa. And the drumming is certainly better than Lars’ in Four Horsemen The lyrics are about Daves fantasies while he was working in a gas station. 4/5

8. These Boots
This is a cover but more of a joke on “These Boots were made for walking" by Lee Hazelwood. This song highlights Gars unorthodox drumming style. Still a great song and pretty funny. But I can’t stand how it beeps out words even though this album isn’t edited. 4/5

I listen to this album religiously 5/5 any Megadeth fan should get this album. Preferably the remastered one. But keep in mind that Dave Mustaines voice is not loved by all.. I can't understand why :chug:
