1 of 1 thought this review was well written

This is an EP from the swedish death-metal band Hypocrisy which is known for their themes regarding aliens and abductions. This EP has only two tracks! I don’t know the purpose with this CD but the tracks are quite good though. The band members was the trio that played for a very long time which then included Peter Tägtgren on guitars, Mikael Hedlund on base guitar and Lars Szöke on the drums. The tracks has the same sound as the material on the ¨Abducted¨ record that will say harsh screaming and fast tempos.

The Beginning Of The End (2:53)
The song starts with hammer and pull-off riffs along with fast drums. The vocals is harsh screams and a few short growls here and there. There are also som heavy riffs with a hellish feel to them. The drums is a bit overwhelming in this song and the solo is short and chaotic, the song ends fast also in a strange way, it suddenly stops. 4/5

Carved Up (3:30)
This song is fast and I not sure if this is the same song that is included in the ¨Abducted¨ album because I broke the CD into peaces in an accident. Either way the song starts with fast drums and heavy guitars, the vocals are mostly screams which can sound annoying to people. The solo is the best on the album but not an overall best solo. 4.25/5

There you have it, this is yet the shortest review I have written so far. I can’t see the idea with this EP, I think it would been better if the band would have these songs on a whole album. This is nothing I will recommend to serius metalfans but if your are a great fan of Hypocrisy you should get it or at least search for it.

PROS
+ The songs has good quality
+ The EP could be a good collecting CD

CONS
-Why put just two songs on an EP?

Overall album rating will be: 2.5/5

I would prefer a re-issue of Abducted with these songs as bonuses instead of this EP to be honest.

Btw Wikuk, I have found a band that you might be interested in, since you like melodic death I bet that you will like them. They are called Nightshade, heard of them?
