Breaking Benjamin is by far my most favorite band out of all the cds and mp3s i have. I got saturate after seeing a commercial on FUSE and i remember thinking to myself: Damn, they look awesome!! and they are!!! their first album, Saturate blew me away and it still does after 2 years of me owning it.
I wish i may: this is an awesome intro song for the album. Its got great vocals especially and the bridge is incredible. Its simple, but it still smokes
Medicate: This is a song that i didnt initially like, but after listening to it, i got really into the intro and verse in major key and how they switch between major and minor throughout the song. Like the first song, the vocals are amazing and the chorus is something you can just sing all day long just to piss people off: run away, make hate, and get laid we get laid. you turn me up, ive had enough so medicate...only in america:-D
Polyamorous- Their only single with the weird name...of course! i still dont get the lyrics or the name, but the guitar is absolutely amazing in this song. It makes you wanna sing the guitar line more than the melody!!! the video has 2 versions:one of which is(was) played on tv, the other is on their site which makes zip sense to me, but hey! its their band, not mine.
Skin- This is the other heavy major key song on the cd. Its my least favorite, but whatever. The guitar is kinda blah, and the vocals are good, but not amazing. yall get the idea
Natural Life- If theyre guna put a crappy song in the cd, hey! why not put the best one right after it? natural life makes you feel like you just wanna hit someone like your in a bond movie. its by far my fav of the cd
Next to Nothing-this song starts off with a painfully tough coustic part which works great with the rest of the song. the vocals arent the greatest in this one, but the instruments more than make up for it.
Water: I think this is one of their heaviest songs. it's got a driving, in your face intro with double distorted guitars and then they whip out the effected voice which is what sold me the first time i heard it. very, very good chorus as well with the line: shut up, i know, i said so. which is basically the theme of the song
Home-ok, this one is just nuts. this is basically telling the story of the wizard of oz. i know what youre thinking..."what the hell were they thinking??" well these guys are the only ones who could pull it off and they did a spectacular job on it! well done guys!!!
Phase-This song took me a while a get into because the intro is a minute of assorted drums and i can never wait for something like that. but after you get past the intro, it is incredible. one of my favs to play with, bass and guiitar.
No games- This is a nice "break" from all of the heavy songs surrounding it. its still got distortion, but its done in a way that you could easily fall asleep to.(and im not saying its boring) Overall, its not awesome, but a nice addition to the album
Sugarcoat- this and the next song are by far the heaviest on the album. Sugarcoat is almost all screaming, which is a crazy transition from the easygoing number before it. I give this song full kudos, i definately liked this one.
Shallow Bay-Kinda vulgar, but i was 12 when i first heard it, so whatever. Its got awesome vocals and guitar which make the song crazy good. The guitar line continues throughout the whole song...moms beware.
Forever-I think this song was telling the world, "sorry for all the bitchin and cussing, heres a love song for ya!" its quite good besides it clashing with the overall theme of the album. This is their quiet song, but they just cannot do a song without distortion in it, so the end has a nice med. dist. to wrap the album up.
THIS CD IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!! it is worth every friggin penny i spent on it and id pay it again just to keep it:-D

The Song "Home" is very interesting, catchy and VERY good. Ben knows how to sing a rendition of the Wizard of Oz, if that is what you think this song sounds like.
If you like Breaking Benjamin get this for sure and also listen to the song "Shallow Bay".
great review as well!!

The riffage on this album is alright, i guess it's just his vocals that really turn me off to breaking benjamin.
| | | Album Rating: 4.5
their new stuff is alright but this beats phobia and we are not alone by far
| | | Album Rating: 3.5
i disagree 110% (for Phobia) it is 100 times better than all of you make it out to be. the drumming is actually complex, while this album it is starting to bore me halfway through the third song.
this is still good though
