4.5 superb | Donkey | March 11th 10 | Emotional, moving, depressing and lyrically solid. I have never been so enthrolled by spoken words. Gavin can flow and gets straight to the point on what he is talking about. Even the line up of songs in the order they are seems impressive to me. Get this, listen to it and drink afterwards!

4.5 superb | rayraypine | November 6th 09 | Six out of Seven tracks are quite excellent. Had Gavin decided this should be a full length album, he could have had a masterpiece. Tasteful instrumentation and thoughtful lyrics. Great disc!

3.5 great | DaveyBoy EMERITUS | October 25th 09 | Gavin Castleton's concept EP tells the life story of it's lead character in reverse, with each track titled a particular year. Starting in 2054, this is not a happy story as a relationship break-up, drug issues & job loss are detailed. Over deceptively intricate music, Castleton's vocals alternate between anguished singing & spoken word, both of which successfully convey the mood of the situation & his age at the time. A lot of information needs to be absorbed & repetition does come into play towards the end, but with the EP lasting 20 minutes it's never over-bearing. Recommended Tracks: 2038, 2045 & 2031.
