Take in mind this is my first review on this site so there's probably gonna be mistakes, don't hate...
Kid Cudi seriously is the man on the moon; since his mixtape with DJ EV called "A Kid Named Cudi" which included the hit single "Day N Nite" that blew up the radio airways, he's never stopped progressing in my opinion.
The opening intro track entitled "In My Dreams (The Cudder Anthem)" it is stated at the end of the track: "your in my dreams now", paving the way for the following tracks which take you on a journey to the moon, and through the intricate workings of Kid Cudi's mind and thoughts.
The whole album is super spacey and light-weight trippy in my opinion. Kanye, Plain Pat, Free School, and Emile make up most and compose most of the beats on the album giving it a lot of diversity as well. Songs such as: Soundtrack 2 My Life, Heart of a Lion, Pursuit of Happiness and Day N Nite give us a pretty detailed look inside his mind as he elaborates on all of his emotions that seem to tear him apart yet build him right back up at the same time as he gives a shout out to Jay-Z right off the bat: "I got 99 problems and they all bitches, wish i was Jigga Man, care free livin". Implying that Cudi is from a different breed, he doesn't rap about his money, cars, or ice. He flows about his feelings and all his problems which obviously include "99 bitches" (ha).
The Man on the Moon also houses some big features for his first album as well including: Kanye West, Common, Chip Tha Ripper, Billy Cravens and a unique collaboration with MGMT. The Latter half of the album also houses one of my favorites called "Hyyerr" which has Chip Tha Ripps smooth laid back flow on the most relaxed song on the album.
All in all, Cudi's flow isn't the most insane of any rapper you'll find, he's not the most iced our rapper, nor does he have "money to blow" like his already superstar counterpart Drake signed by Lil Wayne. But what Kanye saw in Kid Cudi is exactly the reason why everyone diggs him oh so much. He's an honest swagged out solo-dolo stoner from Cleveland, Ohio who speaks his mind.
blaze on Cudi...blaze on.

kid cudi is pretty sweet. i live in cleveland though, and fucking everyone talks about him and it's annoying.
Digging: DJ Douggpound - Pound It | | | Album Rating: 2.5
Kid Cudi has an undeniable flow, but his sound takes 808 to an actual rap level, and usually this doesn't matter in rap, but his lyrics are actually too... simple.
