Now they've removed all trace of rock from the mix they truly sound like their original band name Shirley Temple's Pussy

As a longtime fan of STP, i dont understand why their new album is getting these bad reception and ratings across music sites. I really believe "Perdida" is their best album since "Tiny Music", because like on their early albums, the band is experimenting and expanding their sound beyond the grunge copycats they have been tagged since "Core".

Listen to "Perdida" with a open mind and you will discover some gracious melodies from one of the best bands who are still playing good old rock n roll.

this was a slight slog to get through as well as a rather bland album. I have no problem when a band changes their sound and wants to experiment but...this does not feel like going in a bold direction, just feels like being lazy

A few days, a friend remind me about Jeff Gutt, our favorite participant on the X Factor, and told me he is now the singer of STP, one of my favorite bands, so i had to buy this. I was not expecting their change of sound, but the quality is there. Jeff is a great singer and he will fit perfectly alongside the DeLeo brothers and Eric Kretz.
This must be one of best albums i have listened in a long time.

Around the 1993-96 years, the Stone Temple Pilots were getting a lot of musical praise and commercial success because they were a band capable of creating a very unique sound inspired by influences from the 60s and 70s. After that, the internal problems of the band grew and the creativity decreased. Perdida, the 2nd album with third singer Jeff Gutt marks marks a creative resurgence with an acoustic album with beautiful arrangements that will satisfy many fans of CSNY and the MTV Unplugged shows.

What a boring piece of shit this is. Counting Crows sound butch compared to these guys.

not very exciting, but they do these kinds of songs well. Would have been much better as part of like a double album or something where they actually rock out on the other half. But as a stand alone project, it falls a bit short.

Very forgettable but not bad, they've really gone and change their sound, hope this finds an audience, it's just not for me

After Talk Show, Army of Anyone, and High Rise, Perdida is the first time the DeLeo brothers release two albums with other singer than Scott Weiland.

While those albums focus more on hard rock a-la Core, this time the brothers just concentrated on the acoustic side of their music, that fits very well for Jeff Gutt voice. Although no song stands out at the level of Creep or Atlanta, the album as a whole serves as a great audition for long rainy days.

A welcome change.
