1 of 2 thought this review was well written
Circa Survive was at the time completely unknown to me. In fact the only reason I bought the album was because the cover art really caught my eye. However after a listen it became apparent I had no clue what to think. I had never before came across songs so haunting and yet so beautiful at the same time.
The album opens with, "Living Together", a mixture of instruments that blend together into a flurry of random, but pleasing guitar riffs. At first and before I know it I hear the beautiful crackling voice of Anthony Green half singing half screaming, "it starts out like a season in reverse" the lyrics all throughout the album are fantastic. While you might not understand them all at first you can eventually fit your own lyrical puzzle together.
The next track, "In The Morning and Amazing", has a scratchy frantic opening guitar line and the song holds some of the most powerful lyrics I've ever heard, "you were in my dreams half human half machine looking right through the lens from winter brings spring again". The lyrics paint an amazing picture once again.
As the album continues the tracks stay at a steady level of amazing but it only gets better with, "Semi Constructive Criticism". This song frantically paints a picture with it's all around near perfect lyrics "Branches and petals of paper and metal amber tinfoil forest confines us and we disconnect like this is the end".
Next comes one of the mist beautiful songs I've ever heard,"Kicking Your Crosses Down". The drumming slowly pounds as Antony Greens unimaginable voice only get more angelic. "The damage revealed the cause and it wasn't worth it", who wrote this? An angel perhaps?
I could really spend all day on the lyrics of each track but the instrumental part is just as strong as the lyrics. The guitar effects in, "Carry Us Away" paint a haunting atmosphere as Greens voice seems to pray the chorus. Or some could mistake it for begging? Again this album shows me just how many situations it can apply itself to.
Next comes another amazing opening on, "Close Your Eyes to See". The guitar seems to shotgun back and forth before wonderful drumming effect plays in offering playful but not overpowering electronic effects. Again I could stress the lyrics but I can only tell you so many times before you should see for yourself.
The Album ends on a slower note with ,"All Your Friends Are Gone". The title sounds depressing but this album can really be whatever you make it. Lines such as "when you open up you let yourself seem vulnerable and the morning sun will make our bodies comfortable".
And this ends another review of one of my personal favorite albums. It's one of the albums I can mimic and mold the lyrics to however I feel at that moment. Some people may say this album is about nothing but I see the albums as being about everything.

if all the songs were as good as In the Morning and Amazing and The Only Difference this would be a rock solid record

Solid band.
Digging: Emery - ...In Shallow Seas We Sail | | | So many grammatical errors. You have to put a comma before you introduce a quote. Punctuation goes inside the quotation marks, not outside.
So this another one of my favorite albums.
So this is...
It looks to me like a girl on fire.? Maybe, girls can be hotheads sometimes.
Choose a question mark or a period, you can't use both.
a mixture of instruments that you I can't quite make out
Doesn't make sense.
It seems like all you're really focusing on is the lyrics. I would combine all your thoughts about the lyrics into a single paragraph (or 2 if you have a lot of thoughts on them), and another on the actual music.

The Only Difference is the only really good song here, while Kicking Your Crosses Down is more interesting that great. Rest of the record is pretty fucking boring.

Okay, here goes.
What first caught my attention to the album "On Letting Go" wasn't it's sound but it's amazing album cover. It looks to me like a girl on fire.? Maybe, girls can be hotheads sometimes. So since I had a crisp 20$ bill I decided that I would give Circa Survive a try. And besides Circa Survive is a really cool band name.
Nobody cares; honestly. We're here to talk about the music, not why you bought the album.
So the album starts of with, "Living Together", a mixture of instruments that blend together into a flurry of random, but pleasing guitar riffs.
Get rid of the "so", add an extra f to "of", erase the comma after "with".
At first and before I know it I hear the beautiful crackling voice of Anthony Green half singing half screaming, "it starts out like a season in reverse" the lyrics all throughout the album are fantastic
Woah. Choose either "at first" or "before you know it". Also, this is about three sentences rolled into one. There should at least be a full stop after the lyrics quote.
Lay off the fanboyism, and don't use "I, me, my" in your reviews. It shits me up the wall when anyone does it; I see it as really unprofessional.
You use a lot of generic terms and you over exaggerate a lot. That's what I'd work on, personally.

It's not considered inappropriate to use 'I', me, my' in a review, given that it's well written.

I've read many worse second reviews but definitely pay attention to what everyone else said, especially sir Atavanhalen as he makes good points - the excessive use of the word 'so' definitely slows readers down. Also no one seems to say this for review hints but I think it's very effective to read some of the staff/contributor's newest reviews as well as the feedback on them. I know when I just started reviewing I did that a lot and it helped tremendously. Keep at it though, eventually success comes if you pay attention to criticisms and correct your mistakes.
I think I'm going to listen to this record today. Oh and yes it's cover art is sweet.

I've been loving this album recently. There's something about AG's music that just really draws me in. I'm looking forward to the new Circa record.
And what everyone else said about the review.
