Review Summary: Drenge-Taking The World By Storm
As a relentless forthcoming post-grunge duo, Drenge have shot to the scene and taken the world by storm. Brothers Eoin and Rory Loveless took off in 2013 after MP Tom Watson recommended them in his resignation letter! After this, Drenge toured exstensively in the UK; their first break happened to be supporting Peace on their tour in November, and months later playing at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds.
Eoin’s dry voice matching his heavy bass and Rory’s merciless drumming forms a perfect couplet when put together with the signified violence of Drenge’s songs. Although Drenge have mustered up a rock-solid persona (mainly because various song titles, i.e. I Want to Break You in Half and People In Love Make Me Feel Yuck make you feel slightly terrified reading the back of the CD case) they actually have quite soft, relatable ideas. The Loveless boys are the Sullivan and Wazowski’s of the music industry.
Drenge are currently back in the studio working on their second album, Drenge II. We trust them to plate up another effortlessly brilliant piece of artwork; the only worry is that they lose the bone-shattering sound that makes their music so unique. Let’s hope not!
