2 of 2 thought this review was well written
For those of you who don't know who Lilitu is, Lilitu is a melodic death metal band from Atlanta Georgia. They incorporate a distinct sound with massive amounts of double pedaling, highly distorted guitar solos, piano fills, and a combination of growl/screaming and cleans. I find this band highly influenced and original at the same.
Lilitu was
Derek Bonner-Lead Vocals/Guitar
Jason Piona-Lead Guitar/Studio Keys
Jonah Wiengarten-Keyboard/Piano/extras
Shane Bell-Bass
Corey Long-Drums and percussion
The Delores Lesion has a range of songs from the heavy scream fest "Only The End of The world Again" to the mostly instrumental oriented duet "The Delores Lesion". The album starts with a bang and ends the same way with "Only The End of The world Again" and "Fragments Of My Reflection". Derek Bonner's vocals complement the keyboards and match the guitar. As usual the bass follows both the drums and guitar. Corey Long's drumming has double pedaling, constant tom hits and cymbal crashing. Jason Piona is the lead guitarist and studio pianist his riffs are a mix of Dimebag Darell and John Petrucci at times. Shane Bell's bass is not heard for most of The Delores Lesion but does voice in "Follow Through".
The album starts with "Only The End of The world Again" That repeats the same guitar riff including the solo. Derek screams for the whole song and plays the rhythm. The drums are surprisingly creative with a double pedal floor tom combo. Another surprise in this song is the relativity to Dark Tranquillity and In Flames
The single "Even The Vultures Have Moved On(A Tragic Love Story)" begins extremely fast and repeats the chorus

Someday you will find your way through time
Someday you will follow secure in something more

Followed by the solo, Like most of the solo's he plays both pentatonic and diminished guitar scales. "Even The Vultures Have Moved On" has a very technical keyboard part, Jonah really shines in this song for the verse part unlike the melody in "Follow Through".
"Ether", which is a change to the album, is a soft acoustic/nylon instrumental that is only good after listening to the harder more evil tracks, but is surpassed by more melodic tracks like "Follow Through" and "Dark Haired Girl".
Finally The Delores Lesion starts its last track with a keyboard synth that ends the ballad "Dark Haired Girl" and starts the most original song of the album "Fragments Of My Reflection" which is based on Jason's lead work and again shows Corey's superb drumming. It is the highlight of the album and is heavy and melodic at the same time with heavy distorted riffs, fast keyboard playing, loudly creative drumming and a mix of high pitched screaming and clean singing.
The Delores Lesion is influenced by many bands like Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Him, and SoilWork. The most influenced song has to be Follow Through which has the style of HIM for vocals and mellow then harsh drumming. Like I have said before the Keys are meant for harmony and rhythm than technical leads like the guitar and drums.
The Great:
Guitars and Piano is not dumbed down one bit.
Vocals are well trained.
Derek has an excellent vocabulary and shows through lyrics.
Corey Long has given Lilitu a better sound when added after The Earth Gods
The bad:
Bass is dumbed down unlike Memorial Album
Ether
No Keyboard solos like Lilitu's other work.
Only 40 minutes of music
Standouts:
Even The Vultures Have Moved On
Fragments Of My Reflection
The Delores Lesion
The Delores Lesion is one my favorite albums of all, I recommend you give a try.

Digging: Between The Buried And Me - The Great Misdirect | | | Alright, dude, fair enough - this is better than what you had originally. A little more attention to detail next time around, though... I know that can be difficult and a bit of work, but you'll feel better about it and your readers will have a better idea.

Musically this cd owns. The vocals are what i have a problem with. Generic screams and meh vocals almost make me regret buying this off amazon.

Check it out. It's really awesome. Listen to stuff on their myspace, but they should be replaced with new material on the 11th.
