Really? I searched some of those new trad bands and two tone bands and didn't get any more then like four files
|
Oh yeah, searching for the new trad bands you will, quite frankly die on your arse (there all complete no-names). The only one i can see you finding is Hepcat...
But Two Tone, did you try Madness and the Specials? Theyre both pretty big bands. Maybe not in the US though... |
I already know about the bigger two tone bands like The Specials and English Beat, I was looking for more of the ones you mentioned and I actually found some songs from: The Lambrettas, The Skalars, The Allstonians, The Adjusters
|
Oh, ok then. I dont have the program anyway, haha. Go with the Adjusters, they have a website you can find on google with MP3s, theyre my favourite.
The Rude Dudes are an awesome local ska/punk band, though they're not as thrashy as they claim to be. http://www.purevolume.com/therudedudes
Ska and rockabilly?
|
Hey, has anyone picked up the Mojo magazine special about The Specials, Madness, and ska? It came out like since August but I just noticed it last week. It is SUCH a good mag, haven't had time to read it all, but I love it so far.
I wish my friends liked ska... I was at a friend's house and put a Madness cd on. After a few songs, they rejected it and had to change the cd. They told me they "got scared". Plus, they called it "gypsy music" and "techno-funk", their exact words. Wtf, man... That's it, when I go to college, I'm going somewhere with a good ska scene. |
wtf man!?!?!?!....you can't leave out reel big fish!

It is pretty awesome. And i think Ska and Rockabilly isnt too bad a combination... |
Does anyone know where I can find the BOTAR mp3's? The links on their site don't seem to work.
EDIT: Never mind, got them. |
this is the greatest thing i have ever found on this site
|
Bro! Darest you not even mention Mephiskapheles?! How about SKA-P? Can't exclude satanic ska or ska en espanol.
|
Also, none of the pages can be found. I wanted to hear those Big D songs along with some others like Tripple A (which by the way was one of the most kick-*** bands live) and to my dismay...404. (tear)

Ska-P sucks, Jamaica 69 or those mexican bands in that one thread are way better |
The Too-Toos
|
I've heard a couple of songs by The Toasters, and i really like them, but i'm not sure which album i should get  Any suggestions?
|
The Best Of. Then you only get the good tracks and none of the ****. I might add i dont really like The Toasters.

Thanks, I was considering getting that one too...Anyone else have a suggestion? |
I suggest you download songs...it's much cheaper, and you don't have to pay for ****. Screw corporate America, pirating is so much more fun. ROFLLOL
|
I checked the first few pages of the post but i didn't see either the Hippos or the Peacocks listed anywhere.
I don't really know a lot about either band except that they are both 3rd Wave and they both kick major ***. The Hippos are somewhere in the realm between LTJ and early Catch 22. The Peacocks are a somewhat more ecclectic from what i've heard. Here is a link to a review of the Peacocks http://ska.about.com/library/weekly/blrevjump022.htm If you are looking for sample songs check out "Diane" by the Hippos and "It's Not Too Late" by the Peacocks. |
I Love Ska

Since I don't think this thread comes back to life often I saved it under favorites, thanks man, great thread
