http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y249/blackink001/bigdsetlist.jpg

It was written on a poster for some crappy band I've never heard of.

Kithkin 12-31-2005 03:09 PM

That's a pretty short setlist.

TAND 12-31-2005 03:12 PM

well, how many other bands played?

Jessizzle 12-31-2005 03:50 PM
hey everyone, just here to make a quick recommendation..

you should really check out The Johnstones .. awesome (and not well-known) ska band from around where i live.. i saw them live a couple of months ago. good live performance. they're up on purevolume if you wanna check them out, they could use some more fans

http://www.thejohnstones.ca/

also another band called Beligerous

check em out!
Way to ruin it. the point is too keep them to ourselves, Think about it, If they were as big as the flatliners we would see them WAY less, If they stay in the local scene, we can see them many times a month! ;)

No Portland date, but they obviously are going PAST Portland. Although I did talk to one of their booking agents, and they said they are trying to get one for the 26th

Sup! Basically it goes a little like this:

Anna Pålsson & Peter Rembson (or just one of the names)
Chevallvägen 2
246 50 Löddeköpinge
Sweden

Enjoy! Our customs check is pretty hard to get trough though, so if you're sending illegal drugs or human fetuses oh something, be sure to pack 'em up real good.

pedro durruti 01-01-2006 02:06 PM

Thanks for that and the tip.. wouldn't want to jeopardize my back alley abortion clinic

Ghostfire3 01-02-2006 01:40 AM

I saw Mustard Plug (for the second time) on the 28th. Anyone else like 'em?

Jas 01-02-2006 01:24 PM

Hey guys some of you might remember that a few of us from Mx started a ska site a while back, well I've been working on a new design for the site today. I know it's nothing amazing, cus I can't really work computers and stuff, but I thought it's important for me to build a new site I could actually work and update myself, as it's been left alone for a long while as I couldn't work the old site. Anyway, I put up a few pages of this new site I've been working on (haven't finished yet) onto my hosting, please have a look at it and say what you think.

Right I have to go out to the pub now, I will leave this to you.

Kithkin 01-02-2006 01:47 PM

I hate it when I have to go to the pub:(

Kithkin 01-02-2006 06:12 PM

The site doesn't work too well with safari, but then again, neither does 21deadmonkeys, so i think ska has something against the mac default browser.

The style is good, though most of the links don't work.

Black Ink 01-02-2006 10:21 PM
well, how many other bands played?
Nine, everyone played for a half an hour except Catch 22 which played for an hour and a half.

-Superman- 01-04-2006 10:18 PM

Hrm lately i've been listing to more punk music than ska... I need a new good ska band to listen too... Any ideas?

Kithkin 01-04-2006 10:52 PM

The Flatliners
Suicide Machines
Stray Bullets
Against All Authority
Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Streetlight Manifesto

if you've heard of all those...

$up
The Salads
The Rudiments
Area 7
Adequate Seven
Pain
The Impossibles
Hot Stove Jimmy

All good bands for making the transition from Punk to Ska.

dancing-monkey-named-fred 01-05-2006 12:22 AM

blues and roots festival in byron bay (Australia) its going to be one sweet show:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Jessizzle 01-05-2006 11:49 AM

What do you guys think of the frost tour, these bands have tottally diffrent styles, its going to be interresting.
Big D and the Kids Table, The Flatliners, Death By Stereo and Bigwig

Kithkin 01-05-2006 08:23 PM

Actually, I'd say all of those bands are influenced by Bigwig.

Jas 01-06-2006 04:06 PM

I met this guy last night, he was awesome. He has been friends with my friends for like a year, and twice a week I am stood right near to him in the pub but I've never spoken to him. However we were at a show and we were talking, and turns out he used to work for MoonSka and also a little with Household Name. It was awesome, cus we were talking about so many bands that so few people know about. The only other person I can usually talk to about that number of underground ska bands is Vallely, and so a new person is awesome. He was giving me some goss on certain bands as well, such as The Scrub and Howards Alias etc etc.....

albert_bass 01-06-2006 04:41 PM
Actually, I'd say all of those bands are influenced by Bigwig.
How so?

Bigwig are my favorite band and those bands sound nothing like them to me.
