The Suicide Machines broke up, just to let you guys know.
Aw man that really sucks. I really enjoyed a lot of their music.

I'm pumped to see the Reel Big Fish, MxPx, and Streetlight Manifesto tour thats gonna happen over the summer. They're playing Hartford 7/13 and the second tickets go on sale I'm buying them.

Kithkin 05-23-2006 11:14 PM

Screw Mxpx and RBF... I'm pumped for the post sophomore album release headlining shows:)

Yeah I can't wait for that album to come out.

the-UK-ska-scene 05-24-2006 06:15 AM

But last time I saw RBF, they played Unity. That was pretty much the best thing ever.

And check this out, makes me itch to see the guys again:

I haven't seen them enough, always wanting more...

Catchthe22 05-24-2006 09:09 PM

Dont give up on RBF just yet... :naughty:
Mxpx i dont care for though.
Yeah I can't wait for that album to come out.
Yeah me neither. Should be an awesome album.

Kithkin 05-25-2006 07:38 PM

The new Catch 22 album is a vast improvement over Dinosaur Sounds.

Last time I saw RBF, they had no Scott.

Ghostfire3 05-25-2006 08:21 PM

Desmond Dekker died:( There's a thread about it in Punk.

Kithkin 05-25-2006 11:05 PM

Mr. Desmond Dekker had a crown made of gold

:(

Wow. Terrible quality but it sounds pretty cool.

Catchthe22 05-29-2006 10:38 AM

I was looking for suicide machine videos and i found this live version of Hey! by streetlight manifesto. They do amazing with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67Hfbty8spc

Catchthe22 05-29-2006 11:59 AM

Zappa and I are in the Skabominable Snowmen and weve gotten a few more songs and have played a show couple weeks ago. We opened for The Fad, a punk ska band from NY (http://www.myspace.com/thefad), and Stuck Lucky a ska punk band from Tennessee (http://www.myspace.com/stucklucky). They are amazingly fun live. You guys should check them out. And hopefully in the next couple weeks we will record our other songs to share. :)

the-UK-ska-scene 05-29-2006 01:13 PM

Hey I just noticed you're from Marquette, is there a place called Marquette and that's where you're from, or is it just a uni and you go there?

Cus we just had a bunch of people come over from Marquette and live with us, it's insane all the clothes they owned said Marquette on them, we haven't even bought our uni's hoodies  But yeah, they were crazy about Marquette, sounds like a decent place...They were living here for about 5 months, went back last week, though, it was sad :upset:

ert90 05-29-2006 01:30 PM

Marquette is a town in Michigan (where Catchthe22 lives) and also a university in like Wisconsin I think. They're kinda close to each other, just a lake seperating the two, a big lake.

the-UK-ska-scene 05-29-2006 02:20 PM

Haha oh right...Cheers for the clarification :D I can't understand America and your big country = mega geography
Desmond Dekker died:( There's a thread about it in Punk.
RIP, King of Ska!

Catchthe22 05-29-2006 08:09 PM

Marquette the college is about 6 hours away because it is in Milwaukee, WI and Marquette is a small city in the Upper Penninsula of the Michigan. But that is okay because I dont know the geography of the innerds of the UK to well so ill let it slide. :)

Catchthe22 06-03-2006 09:01 AM

Anyone with soulseek have some of the Hippos' stuff. Especially Heads Are Gonna Roll and their last one which I think was self titled. My username is Catchthe22.

Chickachikah 06-03-2006 06:43 PM

O man i got that cd. But hate soulseek

badger13 06-05-2006 04:47 AM

Someone was asking about some instrumentals. There are some great samples and such at the Dancecrasher website. http://www.dancecrasher.co.uk/sounds.html

Check it. Because there are some very good tunes on it.

Black Ink 06-13-2006 09:38 AM

I just got a sampler from Victory Recrods at the station with two Catch 22 songs off of the new album coming out in a few weeks. "'Party Song" and "The Opporunity." They're kind of mediocre imho.

I like The Opporunity. It is a slower ska song for the album. The Party Song i think is decent but not anything great. Definitly the most pop influenced song on the album.

Kithkin 06-13-2006 04:44 PM

The new album is better than Dinosaur Sounds...

Rise Me Up 06-13-2006 05:10 PM

I heard a couple new songs not too long ago when I saw them, and they sounded really good.

Really? That's surprising.

I downloaded A Call To Arms today by Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution. It's good.

I love that EP.

They redid "Dear Sergio" and "Here's to Life" excellently. I actually prefer the BotAR versions more now.

It just came into the station today. I'm giving it a listen now.

In better music news, BTMI - Goodbye Cool World

http://www.quoteunquoterecords.com/bomb.htm
I found this track lying around on my computer, a song that I had finished for the album but I was kinda putting to the side 'cause I wasn't sure how to **** with it... anyway, I found the file yesterday and decided to record on top of it. There was no click track so the tempos were a little weird, and also I couldn't make beats for it. After the demo sounded WAY too out of time, I decided to re-record it with a ukelele covering the main guitar part. The drums on this are a laundry bin, a set of keys and a bag of pasta being smashed against a box of Couscous.
Yeah, they said they were coming out with a new album sometime in 2006. Hopefully soon.

Yeah, I'd say so. Just 11 tracks is a little disappointing though.

Yeah I heard Streetlight is also trying to throw an album out this year sometime. Hopefully that's true, and hopefully it's soon.

Ahh, going to see Streetlight on July 29th. And more recent Catch 22 on July 15th.
