Just got back from Streetlight, bitches. There was one song that I didn't recognize, but they I don't recall Tomas announcing a new song, so, I don't know. It was awesome though, even though Bedouin Soundclash weren't there :(

Ahh, I thought it was border issues but this is what they're site says:

Cancelled US Shows, message from Jay:

Hey everyone, I just got into Vancouver from Denver, and I want to apologize to everyone who was waiting for our shows on the first leg of the Streetlight Tour. I learned today of a family emergency and had to go home to be with my family. Bedouin doesn't like to cancel on dates but sometimes life gets in the way of plans, and you have to let it take its course. I hope you all understand, and I promise that we will be back to the area shows where we missed when we can. We are going to start again next week doing press in the UK and then rejoin the tour in Orlando, we will still be doing our waterloo/laurier dates as well. See you guys soon, peace.[/QUOTE]

Hey folkies,

Just a little request here, to see if anyone has a MIDI version of Cardiac Arrest by Madness. A friend and I intend to cover it, but there are no tabs out there for it (that I can find). So if anyone with the MIDI file of it is feeling warm and loving, could they possibly upload it?

Many thanks :)

PS, Streetlight Manifesto are teh secks *Listens to Everything Went Numb*

Were people around you singing along?

If they weren't, then it was probably a new song (or possibly a BOTAR song they never released).

If they were, it may have been a cover song.

Jessizzle 09-18-2005 05:03 PM

So update on the new heatskores cd.. Wellll It is alot more punk then ska. Reminds me alot Of Loc/Cv heatskores style. It grows on you fast. took me a couple listens to like it this much. Anyone that has the chance pick it up. But if you dont already F'uck Em all Big Or Small, is better( more ska) but im glad, Smile Tomorrow Will Be Worse ( new cd) Still has the upstroke ska guitar sound.

pedro durruti 09-18-2005 08:42 PM

Jessica, do you have Soulseek?

I'm having trouble remembering, but I don't think anyone was singing. I'm pretty sure it was a somewhat upbeat song, cause I remember more skanking and less moshing

Jessizzle 09-19-2005 01:35 PM

No, But if you wanted the heatskores cd Shane ( Religionisascam) might put it up for you.

Favorite for the moment= MU330-Hoosier Love

Also quick question, any crazy a$$ ska bands similar to the toasters?

maco 09-20-2005 11:13 PM

Victor:
If you can find it, Rude Bones is a good Japanese ska band. Definitely check out the Toasters and the Specials.

I don't know that I would call the Toasters crazy a$$...

The Blue Meanies are more along the crazy line.

KillTheEmo101 09-21-2005 05:47 PM

^^^ crazy a$$ in the sense that they are great :)

thanks for the help

lessthanjackie22 09-22-2005 04:31 PM

the forces of evil?...what do u think

pedro durruti 09-22-2005 04:50 PM

Better than Reel Big Fish.

the-UK-ska-scene 09-23-2005 04:09 AM

Fresher than Reel Big Fish. They were getting a bit stale, although the last album had a little bit more ooomph than the one before. I reckon Forces of Evil remind me of a TTRO era Fish, which was my favourite era, and that's why I like it so much. It's a shame you can't really get away with comparing them with Fish, though, there are too many similarities!

Does anyone have links to sites with free sheet music for trumpet.. I know of a tab site, But I find tabs confusing right now since im very new at the instrument.

the-UK-ska-scene 10-05-2005 05:26 AM

Saw Howards Alias for (probably) the last time last night. Was weird, they just like played all newer stuff off the last 2 albums, and the only song from Chameleon Script was Rob Wants You Dead. It's a class song, but that was the only one they played, which I was a bit disappointed about but it was understandable as they only had a short set. Captain Everything! played, wow I love that band, haven't seen them in over 2 years but oh my, I am gonna try see them more now....They're such funny guys and their music is awesome. Adequate Seven came on, and they just stormed it. They played about 3 or 4 new songs (Splitting Up, Now It's Time, Set Your Sights) and then just played most of the amazing songs from the old album including Choices, Protest Beat, and The State We're In......Ah was just awesome. Worth the £6 travel and mission it took to get there! ACE! :D
