actually... those aren't all that good:(
/Me stabs Kith But I agree :upset: I thought they 1st and 2nd were quite good, compared with other bands (see: LAST REEL BIG FISH ALBUM), and I thought the last one was good for what it was. But there was no. Zing. |
have any of you heard of JLB? they're hard hitting ska/punk band that have a split with All Out Attak. anyway, yeah...
|
And bump with new stuff!
Bomb the Music Industry is a side project of the Arrogant Sons of Bitches that you must listen to. First, everything they ever record is free to download from their site. Second, at their shows, you take a plain t shirt and they will make you a shirt for free. Third, while I love ASOB, their actual songs aren't that great and if their live show weren't so good, I wouldn't listen to them. BTMI on the other hand have some really good songs. They are a combination of Ska, Punk and Happy Hardcore (I think its a type of techno) and some of the songs sound awsome. Especially the ones recorded more recently. http://www.myspace.com/bombthemusicindustry http://www.bombthemusicindustry.com/ Free songs (all available on their website) This Graceless Planet Too Cool For Music FREEEEEEE BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRD FREEEEEEEE BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRD You can go to their site and read their "mission statement" which is actually really interesting. |
Thanks Kith...ASOB are awesome, I think, especially live.
So, I'm going to see I Voted For Kudos soon. I thought it was going to be sooner, but its going to be sometime soon. Superspecs are awesome, and so are Kid Go Home. Opinions? And Infamous Jake and the Pinstripe Mafia.
FREE EVERYTHING: Bomb the Music Industry! will do the best to make sure that you the "listener/mindless consumer" becomes simply the "listener" or dare I say, "participant." This is a local band out of New Jersey. Mostly schoolkids, I think. Check out Waste Of Time in their audio section. They're pretty good.
i just saw them at a toasters show last night (saturday) at bloomfield ave. cafe and stage (in nj). the whole show was pretty kickass, another local band called the Miasmics was there that you should check out |

I was there. The Toasters were pretty good. I have a friend in Miasmics which is why I came in the first place. |
I haven't read this whole thread yet, but Boston has a pretty good ska scene with Fork in Hand Records (Big D, Stray Bullets, and more I can't think of) there are also alot of independant, less famous ska bands around there that are worth checking out.
|
Yeah, I love boston. (and the Stray Bullets:))
Its funny, they recently added a video for Hey Rebecca to their site, but its just a live set with the recorded song played over it:( |

Boston's scene is awesome. I'm not from there but I still like the music. Big D is aweosme, I just recently started getting into "How It Goes."
Its funny, they recently added a video for Hey Rebecca to their site, but its just a live set with the recorded song played over it
That sucks. I guess they tried to make a music video, but they should have just kept the live version. |
Yeah, I love boston. (and the Stray Bullets:))

Yay ska! =)

This kid can't skank!! =O

I wish I could be in a Ska band, but nobody here plays any horns.
And I know, horns don't exactly make Ska into Ska, but I'd rather have a brass section in my band. |
I find this nice Horn-tabs site, just for Ska!, and I thought I'd share it with you guys.
It has Trumpet, Alto, and Tenor sax, even Baritone. I personally love the Skatalites - Guns of navarone, tenor tab. It's so fun to play! I'm not sure if this site has been talked about yet... http://horntabs.net/index.cgi |
