Local/unsigned bands?
i just saw this in pop-punk forums (was looking for a laugh) but its a good idea i dunno if there is a thread like this if so close this but are there any bands local or havent been signed in your area the only one i know in my area is a death metal band called too the gallows and an unsigned band i know of (not in my area) is backmask www.backmask.com
|
Pittsburgh used to have a rock band called Reverend Picklefist and another called Boombox, but they both split up.
|
there may be a reason they arent singed
|
that also reminded me my cousin was in a band (when i was into nu-metal) that was like old papa roach but heavier.
|
I went to go see a local band by the name of The Xenith Sound on Saturday and they were fantastic. Kind of a mix between Nine Inch Nails and The Mars Volta (probably a terrible description). http://www.the-xenith-sound.com/

...Really? It was probably my drummer who put us on there... Yeah.. I just checked, and he put it on there... Douche bag. Anyway, we play metal, with a little bit of progressive metal in there also. Every song we make seems to get more and more techncal and heavy. I can put up a sample song if you want. Just let me know. |

Ok, I'm uploading them right now, one is a softer song, and the other is a version of one our newer songs, but we dropped the singer.
We mess up alot in both of them, we've yet to make a great CD of all our songs. We're working on it though. |
Creed Of Adoration-
http://s15.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=234CTJYE4NT0Q0MHGRSAZMQTKX The first verse is sort of hard to hear because I play the guitar a little too soft. I think this is a pretty awesome song... Clash Of Light And Shadow- http://s15.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=065TWDRDOIDYA1ZB28UR9GQ1A4 The song with our old singer, try to ignore the singer ;) I love the end, even though the other guitarist fucks up. Please comment these songs. |
I myself am in a Local band we are called Kill Devil Hill, named for the hill from which the Wright Brothers flew their first plane. We are sort of a melodic death metal influenced metalcore. I might as well post the link to our page along with some of my favorite local bands from around my area. Check out what they sound like and if you like them then cool.
my band: http://www.myspace.com/killdevilhill Conducting From The Grave http://www.myspace.com/conductingfromthegrave Embrace The End http://www.myspace.com/embracetheend there you go. |

Not from my area at all, but they're unsigned.
http://www.thelivid.com Great band. They have a great sound, especially the guitars. Kind of a poppy sound, but a very talented band nonetheless. |
Enamored, absolutely amazing, I'll YSI one song, cause I don't wanna sap John's funds.

they rock, they just got signed but are a very local band. They went to my highschool and ****. Its like.... Metal + Hardcore + Experimental |
reverend picklefist
I used to go to the Reverend Picklefist shows at Club Laga. One of the few Pittsburgh bands that had some good songs. I always thought their prima donna attitudes about the local scene held them back. Yes, there were a few ROCK bands from the burg that had a chance but screwed it up.
