Cryptopsy anyone?

Do you like Cryptopsy? I love them but I don't know a lot of people who enjoy them. *they are from Quebec!*

So, do you like cryptopsy?

s0ldsoul4roknrol 11-17-2004 08:15 PM

What style of metal are they? Melodic death?

sensitiveorgan00 11-17-2004 08:16 PM

\m/ Yeah.
I'm hoping to see them live next year.

To above: They're brutal technical death metal.

Mechanix 11-17-2004 08:20 PM

Cryptopsy is awesome, though I don't really like what I heard with the other guy(Not Lord Worm)

Where in quebec do you live?

Tyrant21 11-17-2004 08:20 PM

haha, yeah, i wouldnt call them anywhere near melodic death. Anyways, yeah, great band, I was just listening to none so live yesterday when i found my cd was scartched!!!!! Flo Mournier is amazing, in my opinion he adds and undeniable dynamic to the band.

Berner 11-17-2004 08:20 PM

They are amazing. Their live shows are awesome. I met Flo as many people here know. But for you I will post the pic.

you dirty bastard, im not a drummer but he's my hero. know if there is a site to check out lwhen they play live? I just moved down to the lower 48 from alaska so going to shows is more reasonable now.

I just checked the site and they are coming to both denver and ft. collins in march, I'm living a few hours away, im gonna go for sure, maybe to both if tickets arent very expensive. Is anyone in the area that may be attending? if so we should meet up before or something.

Yep, I like Cryptopsy. After that Lord Worm interview on metallian, I'm rather looking forward to the new album, too.

My thread with all the pics I got of the concert.

Cryptopsy is one of my favorite DM bands. However, on NsV, they could have lessened up on the drums in the production. I mean, its better than those bands that produce with the drums too low, but you can barely hear the guitars. Great band though.

you thought that with none so vile? i thought the mix was perfect. On the other hand, i cant listen to any nile album for long because it seems that the drums drown out everything.

Well, it might must be my headphones. I haven't listened to the album for a while with speakers, but with headphones they're way loud. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though, cuz Flo is an amazing drummer.

Bartender 11-18-2004 12:08 AM

I never found a problem with over-production of the drums on NSV, they seem just about right. I've had more of an issue with underproduction of drums (and guitars, actually) on Blasphemy Made Flesh.

Ir0n_mE 11-18-2004 12:37 AM

B3rn3r you're definately from Regina aren't you because that pic of you and Flo is at The Exchange.

Crytopsy are awesome but definately way up there on the brutal scale and sometimes I can get a bit sick of that but still they are good for the type of band they are.

Bartender 11-18-2004 01:35 AM

Bartender 11-18-2004 02:06 AM

No problem.

IHaveRickets 11-18-2004 02:17 AM

I wish Mike was still in the band. :(

Bartender 11-18-2004 02:19 AM

Mike DiSalvo?

I take it you prefer him to Lord Worm.

Of course he does.

He also has some pretty decent lyrics.

EDIT: Especially Defenstration.
