Haha, don't worry about it, us IT people are strange ones.
That's awesome news. How's all the scripting and stuff going with the band-101 site? Is it basically all put together now?

KKKKKocaine 12-05-2005 05:09 PM
Cool. I'll be looking forward to seeing it up.

A site of mine will be going up on the 15th as well.
I've still got a bit of work to do on it between now and then tho.
But it's hillarious when the style sheet has more lines of code than the actual html page.
What's your site gonna be on?

I'm doing it right now, I'm leaving the domain and hosting till I get the first few pages ready to launch. The urls gonna be band-101.net, due to band101.com and.net being taken

Trigger_003 12-05-2005 07:53 PM

Sweet. The offer's still there if you're wanting any help with anything.

Aes, is that the youth week one still or...?

I'm in the middle of putting a new site together for Deprived of Sanity (my band)... the current one we have is about as basic as the Beginner's Song List .

Aes820 12-05-2005 08:14 PM

Yep. It's the youthweek.com one.
I've been working on the page templates for it.
Converting what the designer designed the interfaces to look like into html.

moaner 12-06-2005 10:59 AM

aes, is yyour UT/maybe avatar aphex twin?

Aes820 12-06-2005 03:31 PM
aes, is yyour UT/maybe avatar aphex twin?
It is a short video made by Chris Cunningham, who also directed and did a lot of artwork for Aphex Twin stuff. The soundtrack to has also been done by Aphex Twin.

So, yep.

allthegoodnamesweregone 12-06-2005 03:39 PM

that is a cool avatar ...

the same Chris Cunningham of whom squarepusher said "He's a skeleton. I'm not working with Chris Cunningham again until he puts on some weight."

My friend is really into all that electronica stuff ( www.wyrskies.co.uk.tp is his that I help him out with). I can't listen to it myself, it all feels too digital and sampled to me, but he loves it.

Aes820 12-09-2005 05:54 PM

I played the best gig ever last night.
We were the cover band at a firend of a friends 21st birthday party.

Dead set hilarious.

Trigger_003 12-09-2005 06:48 PM

Haha, that's always fun. Was this with Manifest?

How's everyone's bands going anyway?

Aes820 12-09-2005 07:43 PM
Was this with Manifest?
This was with 4th Mind.
But for last night our bands name was Harley and the Harlots.

Our lead guiarist could only stick around for 5 or so songs anyway. So we got another mate (Manifest bass player) up there to play for the some other songs.

But it was such a last minute thing. I found out about it on wednesday night, and our practise consisted of nothing more than writing down a list of songs that most of us knew kind of okay enough to wing on the night.
And it worked.

How are you anyway? On holidays yet?

Diatonic Dissonance™ 12-09-2005 08:50 PM

Yo Chris, why'd you change your avatar back?

Trigger_003 12-09-2005 11:44 PM

Sounds like great fun.

I've been on holidays for a week or two now... been banned from msn for the whole time so far... heh.

/has had emails asking if I'm still alive

But yeah, it doesn't feel like holidays; I've got over 70 sheets of music to learn just for trombone, plus all this work to get ready for next year, some web design work
... plus writing essays for Mx :upset:

airborne50caliber 12-10-2005 03:45 AM

No way, aes has the legendary man back in place.

I've got so much work over christmas.. but then I getta go to Rome for a week.

Wondered why I hadn't seen you on MSN for a while.
heh.

This is some of the web stuff I've been working on:
http://www.dropbear.net/ea/index.htm

At the moment it is pretty much just a shell.
But I've been working on how to get the site to display different sections of the site in different colours. css stuff.
And the breadcrumbs and nav bar are dynamically built using dreamweaver parameters.

We're looking for a launch date on this site of mid Jan 06.

moaner 12-10-2005 05:25 AM

A government website eh?

Could you stick in some secret messgaes to fuel some conspiracy theories?

change the text on the "australia" symbol so that it reads "blame our scientists"

man, you could get upt o some mischief.

Aes820 12-10-2005 07:14 AM

Ahh, but you see, i like having a job. I'd rather keep it.

I don't like those three coloured dot things.
They look ugly, glad to say I'm not the one who designed 'em.
But I'm gonna have to consider taking them out or at least moving them elsewhere.

moaner 12-10-2005 07:25 AM

I like having money, but the job I have i don't love so much.

There's much worse, and much better. that's life I guess.

Trigger_003 12-10-2005 02:42 PM

Ah, but Aes loves his job.
Wondered why I hadn't seen you on MSN for a while.

My mates were just stuffing around with some rumours about my mate and I, and my parents overheard (having a dad as a teacher at your school really doesn't help sometimes). They got all worried because that guy's a bit older. I've told them there's nothing going on but they don't seem to believe me .

I agree about the dots on the site. Particularly the ones in the top right corner.
Also, the background for tsunami assist isn't too obvious at the moment compared to the others...

why, how old are you? They should know you're a sensible kid and they can trust you to look after yourself anyway.

Or so I assume.

Trigger_003 12-10-2005 07:07 PM

16
They trust quite a lot - they're just really, really over-protective when it comes to this kind of stuff. It sucks.

Anyway, what've you been up to lately?

moaner 12-10-2005 07:29 PM

For nice people like you i have links to myspace accounts iwth musical projects

<edited out>

/will edit that out tomorrow, don't want everyone to know it, just you guys in here

Trigger_003 12-10-2005 07:47 PM

Holidays and I have a love/hate relationship :upset:.

Aes820 12-11-2005 10:28 PM

My rep thingy is broken.

"Error: reputation is not defined"

Diatonic Dissonance™ 12-11-2005 10:42 PM

Hey Chris.

Hey Trea.

Sup with you two?

Aes820 12-11-2005 11:55 PM

Gidday.
I'm working.. Working hard.

Feeling sorry for those three confused newbie uni chicks.
I just got a mystifying email from one of them, and had to clarify it with a phone call.

But for those who don't know: My work just got a few uni students in as kind of a transition from study into work kind of deal. And they've been thrown right in the deep end. Poor kids.
They are all really pretty girls as well.

Trigger_003 12-12-2005 12:06 AM

Thanks for the thought anyway Chris... someone over in the Aussie forum was saying the rep system was down.
I just got a mystifying email from one of them...

Better than guys playing footy in them shorts?
Haha, sorry, Moaner comment right there.

I was swimming and now I'm back to sitting around aimlessly listening to music in true holiday style.

Haha, I was looking up a Melb. band called Airbourne and somehow got onto a recording that's a bit of a fusion work mixed with Metallica's One and that old jazz standard, Take 5... anyone interested?

Diatonic Dissonance™ 12-12-2005 02:10 AM

*raises hand*

I played a piano concert on Friday night.

moaner 12-12-2005 02:33 AM

This morning I was violently sick. That means "I vomited violently", for those among you who talk distorted english.

i should have my chemistry practical exam today so i may have to soldier in in a little while. Guess i just see how i'm feeling.
