I've learned something recently: it doesn't matter what other people listen to. Would you want everyone walking around talking about your favorite underground hardcore bands? Of course not. Let people listen to what they want and you can feel special that you know about something more "core" than what they listen to. I am in no way trying to be a dick about this, but it has to be said. I listen to blink 182 and minor threat; to avenged sevenfold and gorilla biscuits; to sum 41 and good clean fun. Does it really matter what people listen to?

Metallic hardcore is basically metalcore. You don't have to get that technical. As I Lay Dying is metalcore.
