You know that is for sleep right?
|
The production on Breeding The Spawn isn't as bad as I'd been led to believe; guitars aren't as chunky as on EotF but they're still pretty heavy. Bass drums could sound better admittedly.

Anyone check out Ingivomous after I mentioned them in the last.fm thread? I can't stop listening to them lately. |

It's been goin' pretty good lately. I've been really busy with lacrosse and everything. Unfortunately, I don't have a ton to contribute to this thread as of late because I really haven't been listening to much death metal, or much metal at all for that matter lately...
|
Lol nope.
So I have a theory that you can determine whether death metal is worth your time after 30 seconds. By that point you can tell whether the intensity is there, if they can write awesome riffs and if the vocals are acceptable. If they can't do it in 30 seconds, they can't do it at all.
Anyone else have a similar system? |

I've found that death metal doesn't grow on me. It needs to kick me in the chest immediately. I only use this system for death and thrash, which aren't the most complicated forms of music around as far as creating a successful formula.
|
Isn't that really the production then that hits you? I find particularly with complex death metal that the first 5 or so times I hear it I don't take it all in but as my knowlege of it grows the more I can appreciate the composition.

It's riffs riffs and more riffs tbh
