This is really good. Thanks for this.

sgrevs 06-22-2007 03:32 AM

This needs reviving. So I've been listening to lots of Clipse and Masta Killa lately. Gooood stuff.

Rams 06-22-2007 08:54 AM

Nothing has been coming out this year. New Talib is good, but nothing to write home about like Eternal Reflection. I should check out the new Canibus, it has a chance to be good.

Evidence's The Weatherman LP is dope. His rapping is mediocre, but his beats are great. Seems like Babu's style rubbed off on him.

Happymeal 06-22-2007 11:03 PM

Black Milk's debut is pretty good. Very Dilla-influenced.

Speaking of, I wish J did more tracks like "Reckless Driving".

I love Reflection Eternal, that's about the best Talib has done outside of Black Star. The rest of his solo carreer has not been particularly interesting (though each of his albums harvest some fantastic songs). I've still got to check the new one out.

Desire is real nice, though I feel it could have been much better on the production side of things.

Kyle 06-23-2007 05:20 AM

I like some of Talib's guest spots, but the only full lengths of his I really dig are Reflection Eternal and Black Star. Those two are pretty stunning though.

Still need to give the new one a decent chance.

sgrevs 06-23-2007 07:36 AM

Black Star is great and thinking about it makes me want to listen to it again as I haven't in a while. I still want to hear his new one, but I'm not sure if it's worth it anymore.

Rams 06-23-2007 08:30 AM

I personally feel Quality and Eternal Reflection are tons better than Black Star.

i'm the same, i think Quality is the best he's put out

ATM 06-23-2007 10:26 AM

So I read Doom is doing Mmm...Food: Seconds

Yesss

edit: any Count Bass D fans? Diggin him lately.

Kyle 06-23-2007 10:34 AM

Yeah I read about that on Myspace, but is it just a re-issue sort of thing? Not sure that'd be particuarly interesting.

ATM 06-23-2007 12:36 PM

Oh, it's just a reissue. That sucks.

You listen to Count Bass D, Kyle?

jaeehann 06-23-2007 06:43 PM

Count Bass D is the sickston. I've only got Act Your Waist Size but it's well sweet and I'll probably find some more sooner or later. The sample use is radtastic.

ATM 06-24-2007 04:58 PM

Yea, hes so good.

Kyle 06-24-2007 06:43 PM

Checked out Count Bass D earlier, pretty sweet. Cheers.

I'd like to reccomend something back, but I havn't listened to much Hip Hop recently  Getting out of touch, I think.

ATM 06-25-2007 11:55 PM

I'll have to upload some stuff.

Glitterati 06-26-2007 12:42 AM

I've had "This Is Why I'm Hot" stuck in my head for quite some time now.

Krabsworth 06-26-2007 03:56 PM

the new Pharoahe is greatttt

Tyr 06-26-2007 04:04 PM

Yeah, it's pretty good.

pulseczar 06-26-2007 04:09 PM

It's my rap album of the year. I was hoping Wu would take that title, but I doubt they'll put out anything better than something like The W.

Tyr 06-26-2007 04:11 PM

Wu-Tang will be releaseing a new album this year?

Eliminator 06-26-2007 06:10 PM

nope havent heard a thing about it at all

Kyle 06-27-2007 07:09 AM

Anyone listen to Cadence Weapon? He's Canadian AND an ex-Pitchfork writer so obviously well good.....:p

antiant 06-27-2007 01:05 PM
Anyone heard the new Brotha Lynch Hung?
it ain't really a 'new' album, the ripgut collection only has like 3 new tracks, the rest have been heard before...it's just on his new label, which imo is wack as fukk...i like blh a lot, but damn when is he going to get his shyt together and come correct? that's my main concern with his material...it's getting old...

ATM 06-27-2007 04:56 PM

Oh okay. I'm not too familiar with him so I thought that album was all new stuff.

When you say his material is getting old, do you mean that he is still doing the same style and needs to do something new?

antiant 06-27-2007 07:44 PM

yeah, he's become predictable, i would really like it if he just changed direction, changed the people he surrounds himself with etc. Fresh beats, fresh lyrics and not the same stuff all the time...
