So I was listening to Immolation earlier.

Their drummer kicks ***, he is really creative.

I just checked out this Brain Drill band on myspace....

and to be honest they're not THAT bad. They just sound like Beneath the Massacre only maybe even a little bit better.

They're generic death metal played at light speed. The leads are horrible and the drumming is irritating. It's like a more ridiculous Beneath the Massacre, a band they only ripped off because their older material was barely even music.

Yeah, better. It's got a couple cool parts and they don't have those crappy breakdowns (at least from the bit I heard). Generic, yes; and they're certainly not anything I'd go out and buy even if it was $2, but they're still not bad enough to warrant you dumb bandwagoners repeating the same comments about them for a full page.

Both drummers they've had are really creative but they each have their own unique style.

I stand by them being one of the worst bands I've ever heard. The brief, slower and restrained moments are tolerable, but few and far between. But their guitarist and drummer are absolutely intolerable.

i wont proclaim how i feel about death metal drumming.

I agree. I think their only albums that really lack in the drum department are Dawn of Possession because, well, most death metal drumming at that time wasn't very interesting, and Harnessing Ruin because Steve Asheim hadn't quite figured out how to have his style meld with the band yet. I do agree though, CTAWB and SITL both have incredibly killer drumming from 2 incredibly killer drummers.

I haven't heard their earlier stuff.

I only have World, Light, and Cult.

Those are their 3 best imo. Here in After is a little awkward sometimes but is solid, and Failures for Gods feels overproduced and underproduced at the same time but is still great. Dawn of Possession is a piece of history though, it's not as developed as their other stuff but it was still ahead of its time when it was released. All 3 are worth checking out if you're a fan imo.

Harnessing Ruin has some good songs but sucks for the most part, don't bother with it.

DoP is my favorite Immo.

CtaWB is sick but a bit inconsistent

CTAWB is one of my favorite death metal albums, I really can't find anything wrong with it.
