Here's a list of stuff i could do with buying, in roder of priority.

A JTS NX-9 electret
A Fuzz pedal
A min 4 XLR mixer
An Akai Headrush looper
A new watch
A PA system
A boom stand
A new TV for my room
A practice room of my own
A Fuzz pedal
Don't buy one... BUILD ONE!!

Or buy a Russian Big Muff from thomann for £30.

Atomic Rain 02-05-2006 03:08 PM

trust me, i do a fair amount of building. It's a lot of work, it can be very frustrating, and i have horrible trouble with the enclosures (I just don't have the tools to drill 16mm holes easily)

Russian big muff has no DC input, i was thinking of checking out the behringer VD1 just in case it wasn't terrible.

Heh, its not too bad, i've just ordered 3 PCB's from there. Tubescreamer, Microamp, and a Rat. should be fun. Heh, ima just use the pillar drills in school to drill the enclosures, so its not too much of a problem when you can find tools.

Ahh. Didn't realise it didn't have DC. Thats lame:mad:

Yeah the behringer one might be ok... I'd be wary of stamping on it lots though. But then again, I have a Big Muff USA, and that doesnt *feel* that good - it rattles lots too, but hey, its been going strong for a year, and hardly any scratches:thumb: (its only £46 on thomann actually, which is rather good considering I payed £62 a while ago).

Gareth.

Atomic Rain 02-05-2006 04:50 PM

46 on thomann is really cheap.

I have trouble bringing myself to spend omney though, when i think about how much i'll need it in the future.

I have the same problem, especially with going to university in september/october. Thing is my parents have said they will make me a sort of "music room" in the garage, as its quite big so my dad is going to section it off, and as im not going that far away (Cardiff, all going well, Glamorgan, if i screw up (which is just down the road), I'll still be able to use it. Thing is, its going to cost me about £1700 in equipment.

Im going to have to work like a bitch to get enough to cover that and actually surviving for the next three years!

I've tried the whole "working" thing, and it really didn't work out for me. I hated the lack of freedom. I earned a fair bit, but i've been a lazy beggar all my life and i know i'll need that money for learning to drive and for living at uni.

I dont mind it too much, the place I work has a fairly nice and relaxed atmosphere (Somerfield), and I know a lot of people there so its quite good fun.

Yeah, uni is going to be hard work, especially with music/audio gear lust:p

Driving is also a pain, very convinient, but petrol eats at funds so much. I've used about 1/4 a tank since friday, which i put £20 into. grrr.

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-06-2006 08:51 PM

Sup all? I'm home from school early today!

<3 Year 11.

Trigger_003 02-07-2006 04:25 AM

Haha "general" maths prevents me from being able to do that any more.
I don't get why they have to call it general maths if it's really just an extension on top of maths methods in order to cover all of the material...
meh.

Mmm, MSO twomarrow knight.
You goin'?

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-09-2006 12:31 AM

So anyway Chad's going to be here soon .

kevbud187 02-09-2006 12:50 AM

Trigger_003 02-09-2006 02:13 AM

Lol
I looked for you last night Gav

And it's Sidney Myer btw :)

It was pretty sweet and the weather was like, perfect. There's another one on Saturday... you think you'll be going to that one? I will, with my family and some mates.

Aes820 02-09-2006 02:18 AM

What is this MSO thing anyway?

Trigger_003 02-09-2006 02:39 AM

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. During summer, they put on a series of free concerts at the Myer Music Bowl... pretty sweet stuff :).

To anyone that has any slight interest in the news etc...
Jeez, the whole global warming thing is pretty bad now eh (well it was always bad, but the reports keep getting worse :/)? Anyone else been following it?

not if you want to amuse people.

Alive 02-09-2006 04:59 PM

Trea, how hard do you think it would be to learn (some of) that Rumba Flamenco song you sent me? It doesn't sound insanely hard, but I expect it wuold be pretty difficult for a beginner?

Timm 02-09-2006 08:28 PM

having fun with gp

I made two doodles with guitar pro

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=449130

nothing too serious ;)
but I'd do like some crit on it :)

Trigger_003 02-10-2006 02:13 AM

Simon
The start of it is actually Spanish Romance which is a pretty easy classical piece, if you don't already know it.

Seeing as it's played by a quartet, it's kinda hard to say... that and the fact that I don't have any copy of it to go off.
Unless you can be bothered working it out by ear and getting another 3 guitarists... :p

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-10-2006 04:16 AM

Sup? Soooooooooo bored.

Trigger_003 02-10-2006 03:01 PM

If you're so bored, why don't you tell me whether or not you're going into the city tonight?

One of my bands is featuring at a some massive rural festival tomorrow. Loads of surrounding towns are coming in and it sounds like they're making a big deal out of it. 3 hours to get there, 3 hours back... it's going to be a 13 hour day.
But it should be a fun one :).

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-10-2006 09:50 PM

Tonight as in Saturday yeah?

Trigger_003 02-10-2006 10:57 PM

That's the one.

but unless you reply in like, 3 minutes, I guess I won't know until monday

lol

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-11-2006 05:04 AM
