To what?
To hear him.
Put on J5's "A Day At The Races". He goes on after Zaakir. Then go pick up his Legendary Status compilation and listen to "Lung Collapsing Lyrics"

This is pretty good. Tight beat.

When is One Be Lo's new thing coming out?
yeah bone thugs n harmony i'll always love, but i guess they'll just never be the "old" btnh, most of the stuff they've been putting out is crap and they're using the word "thug" too many times to the point where it's like "ok we get the point" i wish someone could grab a hold of them and find a new direction, kinda like how eazy-e did with them, they were good when that happened, i have no idea who they're with now, but it just isn't cutting it
planet asia, his voice is always on point, he's another one i'd like to see be grabbed and put in the right direction, beat-wise, consistency-wise etc most of his albums are decent and i want to see him go a littte above par, he has the skills and talent, i just don't think he has the right team, also sometimes too many guest artist on an album can kill it i hate when i see good talent/good voice/good flow etc and then it's just killed with the beats or the production/team they're with and ruins everything...you're like "rooting" for them and then out of nowhere you get this lame azz beat or rnb hook that just messes everything up...that's when the album just becomes "decent" "mediocre" etc i think that's one pet peeve of mine...it's like man i can direct this shyt better than whoever is at the helm, but hey i guess i just have very high standards, especially when it comes to originality and bringing something new to the table...seems like some artists have lost their grips on creativity/artistry and everything is just blah, whatever instead of WOW/WHOA! it's like they don't challenge themselves, i mean if you flow a certain way, challenge yourself to flow differently and or change it up, suprise us, get creative, experimental, stop staying in the same old box your in, rise above that, i want to see more of that and i'm not seeing that today...sorry for the long rant |
hey antiant, i havent seen you on in forever!
? i've been on, i think or maybe i've been talking a lot today, maybe that's what it is, i've talked more than normal...i plan on uploading more music to the mailing list too, probably sometime this week or within a few days hopefully if nothing gets in the way
i have some electronica to upload, but i dont think anyone pays any attention to that anymore, so i guess i wont.
yeah i have a lot of that too, haven't even uploaded anything yet in that one, i'll try to
The new Jedi Mind Tricks (Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell) album is pretty good solely because Stoupe's production is back. Vinnie Paz is still the same, which is kind of laughable at times, but the music makes up for it.
Any of you guys like Braintax?
The Biro Funk album is pretty sweet. |
Has anyone heard the new Peanut Butter Wolf / Stones Throw Records mix tape/B-side collection, Chrome Children? I'm listening to it now, its really great so far, though Madlib's track is a bit of a dud.
Wow, Zion I and the Grouch's album Heroes In The City Of Dope is an absolute classic. You guys NEED this.
