ATM 07-14-2008 06:56 AM

Who bought their Carcass tickets?

masscows 07-14-2008 09:03 AM

I'm going to soon

VomitStainedCretin 07-14-2008 02:33 PM

For a UK band they don't have enough UK dates; they're playing Leeds November, I know, but that's a bit out the way.

Charizard 07-14-2008 02:38 PM

do you guys think theyd play old material? or just like, heartwork and swan dong

Stevie V 07-14-2008 02:39 PM
For a UK band they don't have enough UK dates; they're playing Leeds November, I know, but that's a bit out the way.
yeah i dont know if i want to go all that way

pate 07-14-2008 02:41 PM
do you guys think theyd play old material? or just like, heartwork and swan dong
I think they do stuff from Necroticism.

Charizard 07-14-2008 02:43 PM

yes, but symphonies and reek of putrification?

Stevie V 07-14-2008 02:43 PM
I think they do stuff from Necroticism.
then its worth going....maybe

VomitStainedCretin 07-14-2008 02:45 PM

I've heard they're doing a good mix of all their albums live including Reek & Symphonies, though I think they are slightly less well represented.

Charizard 07-14-2008 02:46 PM

thats gay then

maybe ill get a ticket idk

Stevie V 07-14-2008 02:46 PM

where do you live vomit? im in london so leeds means staying overnight in a hotel and all and i dont think it's worth it

Charizard 07-14-2008 02:47 PM

City Of Screaming Statues

masscows 07-14-2008 03:47 PM

I hope they play mostly stuff from their first 3 albums but they'll definitely play alot from Heartwork...maybe not as much from Swansong because no one likes that album...

Charizard 07-14-2008 03:48 PM

heartwork and swansong arent even real metal

its just rock and roll with distorted guitars

Dies Irae 07-14-2008 03:49 PM

carcass kind of suck most of the time

Tyler 07-14-2008 03:50 PM

I'm going for Suffocation mostly.

masscows 07-14-2008 03:51 PM

Yeah, Suffocation being on that bill completely sold me. Even if the rest of the bands suck and Carcass plays a set comprised entirely of songs from Swansong it'll still be worth it because of Suffocation.

Dimmu Burger 07-14-2008 03:53 PM

I gotta see Suffocation live cause he invented blastbeats!!

lol

Dies Irae 07-14-2008 03:55 PM

i think suffocation is a pretty cool guy. eh invented blastbeats and doesnt afraid of anything.

VomitStainedCretin 07-14-2008 04:00 PM
where do you live vomit? im in london so leeds means staying overnight in a hotel and all and i dont think it's worth it
Portsmouth; I have a contact in Leeds though, so maybe I could arrange something.

Dimmu Burger 07-14-2008 04:08 PM
i think suffocation is a pretty cool guy. eh invented blastbeats and doesnt afraid of anything.
Yeah that Mike Smith is a cocky bastard, he seriously said he invented blastbeats.

Dies Irae 07-14-2008 04:08 PM

no he didnt

Obsequies 07-14-2008 04:09 PM
carcass kind of suck most of the time
Yeah most Carcass is uninteresting except for Symphonies IMO.

Dimmu Burger 07-14-2008 04:12 PM
no he didnt
Ok he said everyone elses blasts were sissy blasts and his "Smithblasts" are far superior.

masscows 07-14-2008 07:02 PM

He came up with his own type of blast and 'formalized' a wrist technique that lots of people copied, if that's what he meant

Dies Irae 07-14-2008 07:05 PM
Mike invented and pioneered the technique of a blast beat sometimes known in the NYDM drumming community as the "Smith Blast" or to others as the "Suffo-Blast", which is played with bass drums, snare, and cymbals all in synchronization
lol

Dimmu Burger 07-14-2008 07:12 PM

Ummm...how is that different from any other blast??

Dies Irae 07-14-2008 07:15 PM

there's only one type of blast beat

Dimmu Burger 07-14-2008 07:20 PM

That's what I thought.

masscows 07-14-2008 07:27 PM
there's only one type of blast beat
false

Dies Irae 07-14-2008 07:29 PM

i think i know what i'm talking about

Angmar 07-14-2008 07:30 PM

I saw a setlist of a new Carcass show and they played a very big mix of all their albums, a lot from Necroticism actually. Sucks they only got 2 US dates. :(

Tyler 07-14-2008 07:31 PM

They're coming to Toronto so I rule whatever

masscows 07-14-2008 07:34 PM
i think i know what i'm talking about
or so you think

Dimmu Burger 07-14-2008 07:53 PM
false
explain, I'm curious.

Angmar 07-14-2008 07:56 PM

Well, there's regular blasts, then there's hyperblasts, and then we have the Northern Hyperblast.

masscows 07-14-2008 07:57 PM
explain, I'm curious.
some blasts have snare/bass/cymbal or hi-hat are all synced, some have bass/hi-hat synced with snare being hit on the downbeat (and vice versa), some have snare/bass synced but the hi hat or cymbal is only hit every other beat, sometimes the bass drums are going twice as fast as the snare, etc.

yeah then there's hyperblasts and gravity blasts and gay **** like that
