Death fisting fury.

I'm listening to this band called Into Eternitey, are they good? and what kind of genre would they be considered?

The genre is really hard to pin down, they mix in death metal, power metal, prog and so forth. I like them a lot and would recommend Buried In Oblivion and The Scattering of Ashes as albums to check out.
|
Band blows buffalo balls.
|
I liked them a lot when I was first getting into metal, and they're a good band to start with... but their novelty wore thin on me after like... 2 months maybe? Now I just think they're boring. But yeah, you should check them out if you're not really into much metal yet.
|
Yeah I don't like them much. Saying they blow buffalo balls is a gross overstatement though.
|
Yeah, I loved them but they got old very fast.
|
Horrible horrible band, not Death Metal either.
So I've avoided Hypocrisy for all these years because I thought they were some modern bullpoop, but the first three albums are quite good. Their newer stuff sucks way hard though.
yes, pate was right about Osculum Obscenum. But the s/t and Virus are the only other ones I've heard and they are practically melo-death crap. R.I.P. Chuck I can't believe I haven't even listened to Death today. I'm in the mood for Human or ITP. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mm-RGms9Kn0
I used to really like The Scattering of Ashes, especially A past Beyond Memory. The rest of the album got old though. I recommend Afflicted's Prodigal Sun. @Eliminator |
Kylan, what the hell is your problem? I've been listening to Death constantly since I got home from school. I'm listening to Individual Thought Patterns at the moment... Symbolic is next :D
NP: Jealousy This song is so damn good, it's easily one of my favorites off of ITP. |
yeah definitely one of the best
You Want What You Cannot Have, JEALOUSY! I really like Overactive Imagination and The Philosopher, one of the best Death lyrics is the "Ideas that fall under shadows/of theories that stand tall/thoughts that grow narrow/upon being verbally released" I'm going to bump ITP while I do my homework. |
THEEEE PHILOSOPHER!
You know so much about nothing AT ALL \m/ |
I can play that one, it was fun, it's pretty much the only song I can sing over while playing. The outro solo was a bit beyond my reach though...
|
Gene's drumming on ITP is so damn good. He adds so much.
|
The Death thread is missing out on potential discussion :upset:
I think that ITP has the worst production, and Symbolic has the best. |
I like ITP's production simply because the bass is so audible. Digiorgio is really good and his tone sounds pretty good in ITP. But I'd say Scream Bloody Gore has a tad worse production than ITP (not counting Death By Metal Reissue).
|
yeah I forgot about SBG, you can't really expect stunning production though for a debut though. You're right about the production on ITP and also about Hoglan, I never really paid attention to him before. Andy's solos are really different from all the other Death guys, its great.
|
Of course you forgot SBG, you've never heard it.

DiGiorgio is too loud sometimes though. |
I've started to appreciate good bassists in metal more and more now, though, so bassists like Furangen and DiGiorgio can be louder than usual, in my book.
|

very true, considering I only own every Death cd. SBG is my least favorite so I tend to neglect bringing it up during conversation. @Cocaine He can be loud but I never thought he was too loud. ie Severed Survival, it's really nice to actually be able to hear what the bass is doing, especially when its not just following the guitars. |
Yeah, in ITP it seems like he's just loud enough that you're concious of his presence and he comes into your audio focus occasionally, but he's not always there like Chuck's guitar.
@Tyler |
Sometimes he needs to shut the **** up and realize he's a bassist, not a lead guitarist. It's cool to show off how good you are but you still ultimately have to provide that low-end, rhythmic backbone
|
His playing never made me think that, but if you name a song specifically I might agree.
|
That's very true, yes. Kelly Conlon does just that in Symbolic.
@Tyler |
I dunno. Sometimes it's nice to have the rhythm guitar handle the backbone and let the bass go crazy. It grates if every song is like that, but occasional spurts are refreshing.
If you want a human metronome go ask Ian Hill to join your band. |
so this 14 year old girl on facebook (rock group) is trying to tell me that Job For A Cowboy is more talented and more "godly" than Edge of Sanity.

Crimson has become one of my favorite albums ever. Has she even heard EoS? |
