shit is sloppy as hell and the vocals suck cocks. They're a spacey btbam mixed with attack attack
no u |
It tries so hard to have atmosphere and fails so badly that it's comical
also i find it hilarious how people who hate breakdowns are giving it a 3.5 or 4 on the review site |

also i find it hilarious how people who hate breakdowns are giving it a 3.5 or 4 on the review site
I like breakdowns when they're done properly and not every two or three bars. At least it's something different. |
different doesn't mean good
they're a gimmick |

lol yeah thats what i was trying to say lol idiot |
new red shore isnt bad, its just not like their old stuff at all. not even deathcore really.
|
thats kinda the trend I was tryin to point out to mappy earlier, going for the more dm style. Thy Art Is Murder, Bleed From Within, Through The Eyes Of The Dead and Viatrophy all did it
The Red Shore have not been nowhere near the same since they lost Damo. RIP man. |
anyone who likes The Contortionist is a faggot
shit is sloppy as hell and the vocals suck cocks. They're a spacey btbam mixed with attack attack
Okay, so I've come to the conclusion that you don't even know what sloppy means. Also, their vocals are really really good. And Death metal + Meshuggah breakdowns = BTBAM? Stop being full of shit. |
Off first album, band is in time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOsU_ELZjYM Sounds more like Dillinger influenced deathcore with post hardcore parts than anything. Off second album, band is in time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldtghA7xleE Sounds kind of like After The Burial but more Acacia Strain influenced. And their new album is their tightest to date. So moral of the story, when you haven't been playing guitar for a year even, don't call bands that aren't sloppy/that are actual musicians sloppy, because you look like an idiot. |
did I say the musicians were sloppy? nope, the songs themselves sound sloppy, they do not transition well and sound rough
vocalist sucks, he sounds generic and boring the auto tuned clean vocals are a more subtle version of attack attack Meshuggah breakdowns Meshuggah breakdowns Meshuggah breakdowns Meshuggah breakdowns Meshuggah breakdowns Meshuggah breakdowns Meshuggah breakdowns Meshuggah breakdowns Meshuggah breakdowns |
You said "The Contortionist is sloppy" which implies the musicians are sloppy. What you meant was that the songwriting has awkward transitions, idiot.
Also, reverb + high pass filter != autotune, dumbass. And seriously, you're just wrong, his screaming is mad powerful. And I'll agree on that criticism towards the songwriting about Apparition, but not Shapeshifter or Exoplanet. And congratulations, through explaining yourself more cohesively, you've proven that you know even less about what you're talking about than you let on. |
the album is an incoherent mess, it tries WAY too hard to be WOAHHHH SPACEY ROBOTS UNIVERSE JAZZ
its just a pretentious -core garbage gimmick band if I liked it you wouldn't be saying shit |

The album flows rather well, actually. I've been listening to it quite a bit. I don't think the spacey-ness sounds forced at all, unlike on Apparition.
Also, an album can't try WAY too hard. And they're not really a gimmick band, I'm pretty sure they're just playing what they're into. And they don't come off as pretentious, just good musicians. And this album has NOTHING to do with hardcore whatsoever. So calling it "-core" is retarded beyond belief. And it has nothing to do with whether or not you like it, it has to do with the fact that your criticisms are highly inaccurate and uneducated, and written in poor English, with the wrong terminology. And for fucks sake, would it be better if they tried harder to SHRED? You're such a fucking joke. |
I just realized I don't have an argument, time for a bad joke!!!!
Nice. I just realized a lot of their emotive post-rock-ish parts sound a lot like early Dance Gavin Dance riffs. |

it would sound better if they didn't try to jam so much non-sense into one song
the breakdowns are the epitome of filler too there is a few really great melodies in a couple songs but not enough for me to put up with the bad jazz, bad ambient, bad vocals so much better jazz fusion out there, so much better space themed music that stays within itself and doesn't sound forced |
He also doesn't know what he's talking about in any aspect of his criticism.
It reads like it's all based off of like 1 minute of Expire... |
Bad ambient?
