im pretty sure www.relapse.com has some DEP mp3's.

Let's Chop Cats! 07-15-2004 02:32 PM

If I put up a Casey Jones tab would anyone use it? Because I don't want to type it all out of no one uses it.

40 oz 2 freedom 07-15-2004 03:07 PM

If you get on Soulseek and have 'You Fail Me', I'll use it. :)

Let's Chop Cats! 07-15-2004 03:15 PM

Haha yeah I'll be on in a sec.

hookerwithpenis 07-15-2004 05:01 PM

Good thread. Something actually worth reading. So anyone get the new Misery Signals? good stuff...

Shai Hulud = hardcore... perfect example.

(**** it's been awhile since I posted)

BuddyBigsby 07-16-2004 01:20 AM

I like the new Misery Signals, but Devin Townsend made it very hard to enjoy with his crappy production. They sounded so much better on the EP.

Oh, and here's the quote of the day from the "most creative hardcore band" thread in R/M.
They all really sound the same, but I would say thursday since they were one of the creators of the genre in my opinion
Let's Chop Cats! 07-16-2004 01:42 AM

HAHAHAHHAHAHAH! Wow, what's funny is they didn't even really write alot of their first songs. They had a different band member.

40 oz 2 freedom 07-16-2004 06:14 PM

I'm a big fan of Thursday... :upset:

And DFelon: I loved that first DRACULACORE song, so I will check out this one.

40 oz 2 freedom 07-16-2004 06:28 PM

HAHAHAHAHA. I just listened to it. Me gusta.

Let's Chop Cats! 07-16-2004 06:49 PM
I'm a big fan of Thursday... :upset:
Don't worry I like them too, but they used to be better before they kicked out their main guitarist, who went on to make a better hardcore band

cbmartinez 07-16-2004 07:21 PM

The Procedure. Featuring Bill, guitarist and backing vocalist on Thursday's Eyeball release Waiting. Some people claim he wrote the guitar for Full Collapse, but I don't believe it, because the guitar writing ability has seemed to stay consistent for War All The Time, and Bill was kicked out before Full Collapse.

Anyway, they broke up but their still on Purevolume. They are very good.

www.purevolume.com/theprocedure

I'm sure Sk8Ska knows more about them, as I found out about them from him.

40 oz 2 freedom 07-16-2004 07:29 PM

Yeah, I listened to the Procedure and I didn't hear much resemblance to Full Collapse.

cbmartinez 07-16-2004 07:38 PM

Who, The Procedure?

Let's Chop Cats! 07-16-2004 07:44 PM

You can deffinently hear Bill's guitar in Full Colapse when compared to The Procedure.

Also supposedly the Thursday song 'Autobiography of a Nation' is a rip off of a poem. There was an arguement about it on NJ's scene board awhile ago.

Also War All the Time is different from Full Colapse, there are some songs that sound like FC but as a whole it is different.

cbmartinez 07-16-2004 08:35 PM

Well, yeah but I meant, the whole style of the lead guitar didn't seem to change from Full Collapse. Steve Pedulla is a very good guitar player and if what you said about Bill is true, he can match Bill's style pretty well. On Waiting, the guitar style is a bit different. The song "Where The Circle Ends" is one of Thursday's finest moments and has some pretty fine guitar work.

40 oz 2 freedom 07-16-2004 08:51 PM

Full Collapse is still one of my very favorite albums of all-time.

cbmartinez 07-16-2004 08:57 PM

Me also.

Let's Chop Cats! 07-16-2004 11:02 PM

HAHAHHA!

I heard some mall metal retards got their asses kicked during Throwdown at Ozzfest. That rules.

Read that trhead, it has the story. One of the kids actually did some of the fighting.

capri sun junkie 07-17-2004 01:17 AM

haha, that was a fun read

Let's Chop Cats! 07-17-2004 01:33 AM

The only downside is some people think they may have broken edge or something.

Like that's a real big letdown I think. I mean I really don't care about edge breaks, just if your going to preach edge for life or what ever, freaking do it or atleast wait for the band to breakup before breaking edge. If they really did break edge I think they should stop touring with that name and never play their old edge songs again.

BuddyBigsby 07-17-2004 01:06 PM

Wow. Throwdown are pussies.

I saw them a few months ago and they were still edgy. I'll probably be seeing them at a 'secret' Off-fest date in a month so I'll see if they're edgy or not.

cbmartinez 07-17-2004 03:42 PM

Are The Devotchkas hardcore?

art of losing 07-17-2004 03:45 PM

i like hardcore. i wish i was in a hardcore band.

40 oz 2 freedom 07-17-2004 04:15 PM

Me and a couple of friends decided we were going to start a hardcore/metalcore band last night. We've said it before but this time we are serious.

BuddyBigsby 07-17-2004 04:33 PM

Most of my friends that listen to hardcore or even heavy stuff in general only started listening to it a few months ago and are newbies, so it's hard for me to get a band going. Major suckage.

40 oz 2 freedom 07-17-2004 05:49 PM

Yeah that's how it is here, there's not many hardcore fans that don't only listen to From Autumn To Ashes or somethin' like that. I'm hoping this works out.

try being the only kid in a 40 mile radius that listens to hardcore. OR even punk for that matter.... eastern south dakota sucks.... or even the whole state for that matter! :upset:

cbmartinez 07-17-2004 06:00 PM

I'm desperately trying to start one also, but the whole four/five people doesn't work very well. Getting everyone to band practice, finding people who like the same bands, etc...

cbmartinez 07-17-2004 06:03 PM
