Capstan The Mosaic
A post-hardcore band?s third album that is well over an hour in length and really does nothing to be memorable from front to back. The beginning 15% of the album feels a lot more interesting than the 85% of everything else on display here. When the band dabbles into easycore is when everything shines here, otherwise this is a weak and underwhelming fusion of post-hardcore and alternative rock.

Bess Atwell Light Sleeper
In many ways the third album from Bess should be right up my alley, and in some respects it is. The lush and atmospheric styling with some heart-wrenching lyrics really hits. But this album just feels and sounds like a lot of singer/songwriter folk music that we have seen thus far. There are definitely much worse than this album, but there are also much better. Still, the album is pleasant when it?s on, but I cannot remember anything about it once it?s over.

Bring Me The Horizon POST HUMAN: NeX GEn
I have been a pretty large fan of BMTH music since their revolutionary metalcore output on ?Sempiternal? in 2013. From there, the band has continued to change and adapt their sound into various other avenues. However, on the band?s seventh full length album ?Post Human: NeX GEn?, this might be the first time that Oli and the gang really don?t know what they want. The album definitely fits into the modern alternative metal trend, but it also tries to fit into a lot of other lanes with the heavy use of electronics. In many ways, this album sounds as awkward as you think it would be, which isn?t new for the band. But I really believe this is the

Machinedrum 3FOR82
I have always loved Machinedrum?s style of drum and bass and rapping, however the band definitely is starting to incorporate a much broader style of EDM into their music over time. ?3FOR82? is definitely a larger EDM project than a drum and bass project, and in some ways that is a lot of fun, but in others it?s kind of awkward.

Twenty One Pilots Clancy
The newest album from Ohio derived duo Twenty One Pilots (TOP) shows the band will listen to their fans when they know they made a mistake. I don?t know enough of the lore behind TOP, but I know that 2021?s ?Scaled and Icy? was a huge departure from the ideas they were building on 2018?s ?Trench?. The honest lyrics and grimy production were replaced with a brighter and safer sound. So on their newest album ?Clancy?, we see the duo try to hit that same high of ?Trench? and in some regards they do that, but in other ways they completely lose focus. The first half of the album is significantly better than the back half, with the first 6 songs be

Vince Staples Dark Times
I, and probably many others, have been patiently waiting not only for a new Vince Staples album, but for Vince to return to his previous form he has shown in the past. 2017?s ?Big Fish Theory? really showed that Vince can have some lyrical substance with booming wonky production from Sophie. However, from then his latest albums have all had various flaws from being substance less to sonically boring. However, on ?Dark Times? we see Vince really shine through with his style of abstract hip hop he has been trying to do. Some really subtle and light production, that works so well over the nasally rapping delivery from Vince. ?Dark Times? is defi

Jordan Rakei The Loop
It?s white boy soul and RnB music, but had really no flare to it. Not bad while it?s on but completely forgettable when it?s over.
