The first song, Cold Cash and Colder Hearts starts off right away smacking you straight in the face. Right away Dustin shows you his booming voice and intesne lyrics, this song makes me want to rip my head off, the drums cut in and out of the song at the most perfect songs, and the breakdown give you about 20 seconds to breath. But right after, Dustin begins his long drawn out screams to end the song, which fades out with a violin playing. 4/5. This isnt the best yet ;-).

Next, Under A Killing Moon pops in perfectly, i cant get enough of these guys. The guitar's quick pull offs and such give you a stellar sense as Dustin's vox are backed by his band mates. This might be one of my top 3 from the album. The guitars bass and drums all flow in perfect harmony with each other. 5/5. Good job Thrice.

After that energetic song you get drawn in with the fast-paced song All That's Left. This is one of the band's more popular songs, and i have heard it too much, but i remember loving it. The guitar in the chorus is very dominant and sounds as if it has it's own voice. Dustin's crazy lyrics do nothing but improve the song, and the chorus gets changed for the better at the end with backing vocals. 3/5

Silhouette, wow, this song is really hardcore. Dustin's screaming gives me goosebumps in this, the guitar's palm muting just makes the song that much more sexy. I remember being in the pit to this song and it was insane. With a heavy slow beat, screaming powerful words driven into your brain, this is my favorite song. If there is any one song you will hear from Thrice, i reccomend this. 5/5

Stare At The Sun, another public favorite. But i agree with the majority of people that hear this song. It is a very passionate song, and the lead guitar in this song just goes crazy. There isnt much to say about this song... its an epic though. You rarely hear a song like this. 4/5

Paper Tigers. :) this song is everything you will want to hear from these guys. Dustin screams almost throughout the whole song and its like he never takes a breath. The guitar moves in and out perfectly trading your attention between it and the amazing vocals. Backup vocals mesh like another person's voice. This song is amazing in all its glory. 5/5 eight times over.

Hoods On Peregrine marks the new sense of the album. With a quick walk up on the guitar right at the begining this song sucks you in. Dustin's lyrics will speak to you if you really listen in this song, and the guitar moves around alot. There are alot of cool licks and the drums have a thunder-like sound. The bass is so heavy im wondering how he plays it so perfectly. 4/5

The Melting Point Of Wax is one of my not so favorites. Its very out-of-the-blue. Though it has its moments this song doesnt really entrance me that much. Compared to other songs on the album this song has nothing special. 3/5

Blood Clots And Black Holes is defiantely another one of my favorites. The intro is grand, the drums and guitar goes perfectly together, teppei keeps up a steady lead guitar rythme through-out the whole song. The lyrics are great too, obviously about America's war in Iraq or something along those lines. This song has a great break-down too. 5/5

The Artist In The Ambulance is nothing less than classic. This song makes me go crazy, the breakdown just makes me want to throw myself out the window and as I listen to it right now i can barely type this. The guitar once again works well throughout the song keeping u0p a steady rythme, the bass is very dynamic in the song aswell, and the drums have so many different beats to them. Definately a stand out song. 5/5

The Abolition Of A Man, this song is intense. Dustin takes on a different approach with a little quieter singing, until... BAM lyrics are spat in your face along with the constant stampeding of the drums and guitars. The end of the song is also the breakdown, and the guitar has a lick i cant get enough of, i want it to be the theme music to my life. 5/5

Don't Tell And We Wont Ask, Thrice ends with this song and i think i know. It sums up the album, and gives you a sense of completion. The song is epic aswell, great lyrics, and i have yet to come up with a good metaphorical answer to them. The guitar is the only thing that really stands out to me other than the preaching-like singing. 5/5, great song.

overall these guys did a really good job and i think this album is what really put them on the map. if you thought the album was too heavy go check out the illusion of safety. im out.
