Holy fuck this is totally not what I was expecting. Daniel sounds mental and I quite like the vibe. Reminds me of One a bit but I'm not sure how this will keep up on repeated listens. Glad the production isn't total ass too
| |
Exceeded my expectations, holy shit. A fantastic mix of old-school and modern Tesseract and Dan is absolutely unchained in this. Was already hyped, this just blew the lid off.
| |
That music video looks like a fever dream of a 12 year old kid that is obsessed with bionicles, i'm sorry.
Dan sounds very good tho, you guys are right.
| |
for an 11 minute song it actually flows pretty well. can't believe Daniel Tompkins is 40 now lol
| |
"That music video looks like a fever dream of a 12 year old kid that is obsessed with bionicles, i'm sorry."
ah I found the Beyblade purist
| |
Someone on YouTube put it well, this really sounds like all their records merged into one
| |
"That music video looks like a fever dream of a 12 year old kid that is obsessed with bionicles, i'm sorry."
You say this like it's a bad thing
| |
holy fuck
| |
Song is okay. Some cool moments, but i don’t care for all the clean vocal parts and a bunch of others parts hella drag
| |
Hey now, Bionicles are rad dude. Song sounds nice.
| |
Bioniclecore m/
| |
Intervals and Daoboys support, nice.
Song is good. Pretty standard Tesseract to me. Liked the heavier parts and thought they were a bit unexpected
| |
If I was 18 again I might impressed by this
But it's just not interesting or fun imo
| |
"Someone on YouTube put it well, this really sounds like all their records merged into one"
But they already did that with Sonder
| |
not a fan of this rip. absolute disjointed mess
| |
Rips hard
| |
JESUS FUCK LETS GO
| |
disjointed and painfully derivative lol
| |
I actually think Tesseract are a bit of an oddball with their own identity and only Spiritbox could out-tesseract them on their debut EP, but their sound is just so stale.
| |
“disjointed and painfully derivative lol”
Ngl, hysterical coming from you cause this sounds like periphery with better vox and cutting the bull shit synth outros lol
| |
I take that back, there must be a million tesseract clones out there, and since the clones can't be better, they all suck, because the original has never been that good
| |
Periphery is hot garbage jam Deathspell Omega
| |
I'm still bummed Dan left Skyharbor and I haven't really been into the TesseracT stuff since then, but this song was really good! Great buildup and payoff.
| |
“Periphery is hot garbage jam Deathspell Omega”
🫡
| |
Tundra you are smoking on the shit that made poison ivy this track slaps
I'll still put Spencer over Dan but I think it's time I finally admit TesseracT is the better band
| |
I enjoyed this one quite a bit! Only TesseracT I've really listened to is Altered State (still need to finish that album), so the harsher vocals caught me off guard here, but in a good way!
| |
Curious about this, will jam later.
"Periphery is hot garbage jam Deathspell Omega"
(Facepalm)
| |
wow that fuckin ripped let's go
| |
It's weird to me that a lot of you are raving about this. I've listened to it twice and so far it feels really disjointed. Like three or four songs run slapped together.
| |
Skyharbor [2] Someone please bring them back.
Song's fine, will at least check out the album. Band is great live so would prob be worth the tour alone.
| |
im not a terribly big fan of this but i gotta admit it is a ballsy move to drop your longest song ever as the lead single to your first album in 5 years
doesnt make it any more coherent lol but
| |
10/10 chance tundra has never heard DSO
| |
"I take that back, there must be a million tesseract clones out there, and since the clones can't be better, they all suck, because the original has never been that good"
DING DING DING!
| |
Band should bring back Elliot Coleman, they were more fun when everyone was complaining about his vocals
| |
This is huge and I've never really been into this band. Doesn't really seem disjointed at all
| |
Damn this is out of left field, good shit
| |
"Periphery is hot garbage jam Deathspell Omega"
Facepalm (2)
Ones djent and the others black metal made by Nazis for memory so very different vibes on two fronts there my dude
| |
damn consensus seems mostly favorable on this so im gonna rejam and not watch the corny as hell music video while i do lol see if that fares better. was rooting for this on paper so i wouldnt mind being wrong here
| |
For what it's worth, Onion, it took me a few spins to click. I think it's a pretty slick track from them. It's no Altered State, but I'm glad they're bringing some of the elements from the first two records back for this new stuff.
| |
Djent sucks in general tbh
| |
The comments weren't lying, the vocals are very strong, especially the unclean ones. The death growls are new to TesseracT as far as i'm aware of it
| |
Not as accessible as most of what they did after One. New album could be their best since then
| |
They would slap if they would write more songs like Juno
| |
The video is pretty terrible but man the song is really damn good.
| |
Man it’s been probably 10 years since I heard this band sound this energized. Vocals and drums sound great
| |
Best song I've ever heard from this band personally. Dan absolutely killed it with the vocals. I look forward to hearing the rest of the album
| |
Yeah.. the wait was so worth it.. easily one of the best metal songs from this year.. looking massively to the new album
And yo, those growls were very well welcomed
| |
Glad the boys are back. Didn't expect a 11 min epic but i'll take it. Dan is nuts
| |
probably didn't need to be 11 minutes, but it's a solid song
hope the rest of the album can deliver
| |
Yeah the more I listen the more I like it and I liked it initially. Track is sick
| |
Better than anything from Sonder or Polaris by a long shot. I can see why they took over 5 years to make this, got a feeling this is gonna be their best to date everyone is on their A game and the production is incredible. Popular opinion but it deffo does sound like all their albums meshed together but with a new twist. The vocals at 5:30 really remind me of the singing in the Dune soundtrack for some reason, really cool stuff.

This is dece
| |
not listening to an 11 min tesseract song,
in fact im not listening to a 1 minute tesseract song
| |
thank you for the update
| |
no prob, im now sitting outside
| |
I respect the decision as I do think this band is overrated but this song is p good
| |
I respect that it's a good song. Dan sounds prime and Amos is at the top of his game as always. The 11 minute thing feels tiring to me anymore.
I can respect it, but I think this just kinda isn't for me anymore and I'm not sure if it ever was outside of Altered State.
| |
This song is solid, great grooves per usual. It is a mix of old and new and that's great. Dan is an beast and the band is still technically tighter than a jazz band.
| |
I feel like there’s a lot of good ideas here that could have been more fleshed out in their own tracks. This prob could have been broken down into multiple songs
| |
But why when you can do it once
| |
yea dude its ~P R O G R E S S I V E~ cmon
| |
The boys are back, matches up with the level of One IMO
| |
That opening riff is disgusting. Liking this. The album opener, "Natural Disaster" can be heard performed live on YouTube if anyone's curious. It's rowdy.
| |
Wow. Heard this a couple days ago and it far surpassed my expectations. They've merged a lot of the sounds they've accumulated over the years without watering anything down, which is that I felt they unfortunately did on Sonder.
This didn't necessarily need to be 11 minutes but I'm not mad about it. Stellar.
| |
Kinda just felt like quiet part - djent part - quiet part - djent part for 11 minutes tbh.
| |
Definitely getting a lot of "One" vibes, but it feels like every instrument is pushed to the front of the mix at times which just makes it sound more chaotic than like a wall of sound.
| |
“Kinda just felt like quiet part - djent part - quiet part - djent part for 11 minutes tbh”
Yeah, needed another djent part for sure. Maybe another quiet part
| |
ah I found the Beyblade purist [2]
| |
this shit slapsssssssssssssssss
| |
Glad to hear they didn't get soft, this is heavy ass shit
| |
Predicting an 3.7 or maybe an 3.8 avg. You heard it here first folks
| |
Daniel sounds unhinged. He has impeccable vocal control, he even got better over the years
| |
If the whole album is like this, this could be the first good djent album in years
| |
