I See Stars release new music

2023-05-16 by Sarah | 19 Comments
Electronicore band I See Stars have released their first original material in seven years, the songs "Anomaly" and "Drift".

"Anomaly" is a continuation of the sounds of Treehouse, while "Drift" sees the band experiment with djent.

The band have also confirmed that a new album is on the way, though further details have yet to be released. In the meantime, you can stream the two new songs here:

Anomaly is better than Drift. Drift is...kinda meh.

Yeah this was very underwhelming, kinda worried this album will suffer the same fate as the dumpster fire that was ADTR's recent album as a result of it being stuck in development hell for so long.

Oh shit! I was just jamming a few of their albums the other day wondering whatever happened to them. I'll listen to these while I'm at work.

@David - Yeah, I agree. Though I honestly like both songs.

@iChuckles - Man, I hope not. To be fair though I think ADTR had other problems outside of that album being in development hell, lol.

while I do wish they had done something a little bit more adventurous, Anomaly is very solid, Drift not as immediate.

This is perfectly acceptable and accessible, and moreso expected for a band as pop-centric as they were. Not going to lie though, their older albums had a sound that could've easily still worked today what with hyperpop being a thing now.

Sounds totally OKAY. Obviously Sputnik folk will dislike it though. If the band produced hyper experimental garbage metal everyone here would praise them

"Anomaly" is solid. Not one of the best things they've put out, but it's euphonic enough to the ears. While I appreciate the experimentation in "Drift", it's not as strong. As a whole, for the first material released in seven years, it's kind of disappointing, but at least it's something.

Sounds similar to the stuff they were doing on Treehouse (just a bit blander) which is relief as that was easily their best album to my ears, interested to see what the rest of the album is like

Anomaly is pretty bland. I enjoyed drift but “djent” never crossed my mind lol. Just glad to see some new material from these guys finally. Digital Renegade is one of my all time favorite albums.
