Hmmm, perhaps the finalization of my end of the year list can wait a little longer
|
| |
I can't pronounce this band's name!
|
| |
Awwwww shit
|
| |
Noice. End of 2022 still has some surprises, I see.
|
| |
way to screw up my end of year lists! (hopefully). Algleymi was pretty damn good
I thought the first 2 tracks had the same name for a second, lol
|
| |
album description is sweet. I wish their vocals were in English. Somehow other languages really take away from the experience for me since then it becomes less relatable.
|
| |
Sweeeeeeeeet
|
| |
> I wish their vocals were in English.
That's one of the most appealing things about them though, imo. Icelandic is... something unique.
|
| |
Icelandic >
|
| |
Hype
|
| |
Icelandic black metal straight up doesn’t miss too
|
| |
Beyond hyped, last two albums are amazing!!!
|
| |
Icelandic is gorgeous, I much prefer bands/artists singing in their native language
|
| |
Tbh they should have kept the album description in Icelandic too, that's some trve kvlt cheese if I've ever seen any
|
| |
@Essence
That’s exactly why I like not being able to understand a lot of the lyrics in metal.
@PizzaBear

Album will probably be real good
|
| |
Weren’t they whining about ‘SJWs’ not long ago? That album description is hilarious.
|
| |
What a way to have the final word on 2022. This changes everything.
|
| |
Yeah that description is some next level cheese
Still pre-ordered this
|
| |
"Weren’t they whining about ‘SJWs’ not long ago?"
Were they? I try to be more careful about which BM I support nowadays and I've never come across anything particularly off from these guys.
Whining about SJWs in and of itself wouldn't be a deal breaker in itself, I'm just surprised I hadn't heard of it.
|
| |
I can enjoy or support whoever I choose to, as can you. Thanks for your "insight"
|
| |
SJW means Social Justice Warrior?
In the Netherlands, we use the word Gutmensch. Them being good, implies others being bad. They can be quite annoying.
|
| |
The gist is that there's a Bardo interview with them complaining about SJWs and "feminist-vegan-no borders" stuff so they're obviously reactionary dipshits, but unless they start doing some real nazi stuff I'm not overly bothered.
|
| |
Got nothing to do with nazi stuff. But now that we're on the subject of reactionary dipshits, I fucking hate vegans, so this information actually makes me love this band even more.
All reactionary dipshits are equal, but some are more equal than others. ;-)
|
| |
These guys skill are insane...
|
| |
fucking idiot cringe band. embarrassed i used to support these dumb fucks
|
| |
Brother azog, do you know what reactionary means?
|
| |
he’s clearly a total idiot, so chances are he doesn’t
|
| |
all their public statements are boomerific tryhard nonsense for sure, but until they do something credibly fascistic beyond just being super cringe I'm going to keep bludgeoning my face with those glacial riffs.
edit: yeah that's not what reactionary means lol
|
| |

"There is plenty of room for nuance and subtlety in Black Metal, but the hammer leaves no room for interpretation."
🤓
|
| |
Like, the mid '90s are here again. Pure nostalgia.
"Brother azog, do you know what reactionary means?"
I do have access to Wikipedia. Contrary to what many seem to believe, veganism isn't something modern or progressive, nor is it necessarily tied to left wing politics.
|
| |
I feel like I’ve listened to this band but I haven’t rated their stuff so I don’t remember if I liked them. Either way, excited for a surprise BM release before EOY
|
| |
I’m still reeling from anyone hating anyone else over a dietary choice
|
| |
Wait you don’t hate fat people botb?????
^ wanted to point out this is a joke
|
| |
Veganism is not about dietary choice. Veganism is about them, being morally superior to others. That's why.
|
| |
Some vegans, sure. Condemning the entire movement as such seems . . . reductive.
|
| |
“Some vegans, sure. Condemning the entire movement as such seems . . . reductive.”

|
| |
Def reductive
|
| |
If you work in the meat industry, produce cattle, or breed exotic animals, then you'll be reminded on a daily basis that it actually is the entire movement. Their hate campaign is everywhere.
|
| |
That isn't how that works
|
| |
Hell yes. Hope it’s closer to their debut than the second, production was a bit fuzzy and odd on the second one. First one is god tier
|
| |
Well I work on a farm that in part produces cattle and personally have literally never been insulted or bothered in the slightest by an angry vegan stereotype, but maybe that's just a lesson in how individual experiences don't apply broadly.
|
| |
There seems to be a trap people fall into around subjects like veganism where, they see someone with strong principles about something and they take that as an affront against themselves regardless of whether that person is actually addressing them or not.
"Oh this person thinks eating meat is bad, therefore they must think I am bad!"
It's the only way to explain how unreasonably angry and downright unhinged some people get at a restaurant having the "audacity" to offer a vegan sausage alternative for example. I think it probably doesn't help that, often time, the person with those strong principles does have some solid arguments for them too as a foundation for it, which can reinforce that mentality that "oh they must think I am bad". I'm no vegan but the arguments for veganism, especially in a modern, developped country, are strong... I'm not a vegan myself but at this point I've had to shrug and accept that it's simply because I don't want to because there isn't really a strong case to be made otherwise.
I think people fall into similar pitfalls around sjws (or the woke as the new buzzword goes).
Not to excuse the annoying people in either movement that do exist, but the existence of those people doesn't really track with the level of vitriol that gets sent their way imo.
|
| |
That Bardo interview. Yikes.
|
| |
“One time a guy with glasses was mean to me fuck all glassesed people”
- azog
|
| |
“fuck all glassesed people”
😦 my eyeballs are offended as fuck right now
|
| |
"Look at me, making fun of someone, from a very safe distance, anonymously. If this won't lure women to my doorstep, nothing will."
- botb
|
| |
Dude no one is thinking of luring women on sputnik except you apparently
|
| |
[2]
Also, what is meant by “safe distance”?
|
| |
Dog I’m married I am not luring anyone anywhere, and if I clowned you for making dumb blanket statements about groups in person I wouldn’t be any less safe than I am cozy in this big ass bean bag chair
|
| |
Lmao 💀
|
| |
"Also, what is meant by “safe distance”?"
implying he will physically assault him in person, of course. what a surprise.
|
| |
There is plenty of room for nuance and subtlety in Black Metal, but anything said on Sputnik is meant to be taken literally, at all times. One should take this responsibility very seriously, as the proverbial hammer becomes an actual hammer, leaving no room for interpretation.
Also, I'm stepping out of this pig wrestling contest, before getting even dirtier. Bye.
|
| |
Ok dude I’m sure you have people eating impossible burgers to glare at anyway
|
| |
Lmao coping and seething
|
| |
impossible borgurs from borgur king are pretty good actually.
|
| |
Why haven’t Dimmu Borgur and Borgur King collabed yet? Missed opportunity
|
| |
probably a bit late now but that would've gone hard in norway in 2004
|
| |
Especially with that black borgur that turned everyone’s crap green!
|
| |
