Monuments are In Stasis

2022-01-25 by Voltimand | 16 Comments
UK progressive metal band Monuments have announced details of their new album In Stasis due for release on April 15 this year, with pre-ordering available starting February 4th.

In regards to the album's title and concept, the band states it relates to "This feeling of being stuck in the middle, something we experience throughout our lives... This album is a culmination of our greatest triumphs and our deepest struggles." This album will be the first release with the band's new lineup after long-time members Chris Barretto and Olly Steele left the band in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

In addition to input from producer Mick Gordon (DOOM, Killer Instinct), In Stasis will also feature guests Neema Askari (He Knows, Fellsilent) and Spencer Sotelo (Periphery, Mothership).

Track list:
1. No One Will Teach You (ft. Neema Askari)
2. Lavos
3. Cardinal Red
4. Opiate
5. Collapse
6. Arch Essence (ft. Spencer Sotelo)
7. Somnus
8. False Providence
9. Makeshift Harmony
10. The Cimmerian

Olly and Chris will be missed, but Andy is a great vocalist and I think is a great fit for the band. The artwork for this is fantastic as well.

Listening to "Lavos" again, track's grown on me and Mick does add an extra layer of depth that "Animus" was lacking when that single was released. Jumping on the hype train m/ m/ m/
