Pretty decent. Sounds like a higher-tier Disturbed song kinda. Not the biggest fan of this side of Trivium but here it works ok.

dope
|
| |
Production is ass. On a side note Paolo confirmed three songs are 7+ minutes long.
|
| |
Yeah the production sounds a little off. Can't wait to hear the long songs.
|
| |
In the Court of the Dragon was way better, but I still think this might become their best album. This seems to be one of the more radio friendly tracks.
|
| |
Album art is really cool tbh.
|
| |
Low key sounds like a Tremonti song in a decent chunk of sections. Not bad though, and the artwork is really nice.
|
| |
I swear they just released an album. Cool album art too
|
| |
artwork rules, song rules, this album is likely gonna rule
|
| |
Anybody know if they kept Josh Wilbur as producer for this album?
Dude has done solid work with Sin and Dead Men and this seems to sound similar but I can't be sure.
|
| |
they should get colin richardson again if he's around, shogun and in waves sound amazing compared to their newer stuff
|
| |
" Anybody know if they kept Josh Wilbur as producer for this album? "
Yep, he's the producer.
|
| |
are you kidding me
in waves is their worst album
|
| |
Both songs slap. Very hyped.
|
| |
"they should get colin richardson again if he's around, shogun and in waves sound amazing compared to their newer stuff"
Nick Raskulinecz did Shogun, though Richardson did the mixing
|
| |
"they should get colin richardson again if he's around, shogun and in waves sound amazing compared to their newer stuff"
Colin didn't produce In Waves, Nick Raskulinecz did.
"Yep, he's the producer."
Yea boi, if it ain't broke don't fuckin fix it!
"in waves is their worst album"
Nah it's their best
|
| |
Matt sounds less like he's imitating singing in this song. That's a good sign.
|
| |
"in waves is their worst album"
Have you not heard how embarrassingly awful their next few albums after that were?
They dropped complete ass for a good minute theres no way In Waves is their worst
|
| |
neckbeards rejoice
|
| |
yall just a bunch of haters smdh head go on and listen to yer garbage Mathrock u posers
harumph
|
| |
Wasn't huge on the last few releases after Shogun (sounds like I am not alone in that) but I will be giving this one a fair shake.
|
| |
i really meant for mixing more than the production side. i don't think the last two albums were mixed in a very appealing way personally, the drums especially sound kinda garbo. say what you will about in waves but the drums sound killer
|
| |
^Mad
|
| |
^Projecting
|
| |
Damn. I loved a couple of songs from their last album but as an whole it didnt do much, hope this one doesnt follow the same route.
"In the court of the dragon!" was awesome, but I guess they have a couple of bangers and the rest of them are bland just like this one. Alex deserves better tunes.
Someone correctly stated above this sounds like Disturbed. Sad.
|
| |
Trivium have done way worse stuff than this. Ember, Crusade, Vengeance, Silence are all pretty gar baj.
|
| |
Dang... not even half as good as In The Court Of The Dragon
Still okay I guess but I'm hoping this is the low-point of the record
|
| |
can't believe Billy Corgan is in this band now
|
| |
that was a trivium song.
|
| |
I'm gonna drop a hot take and say Heafy sounded cooler as a singer when he was imitating James Hetfield than he does in the most recent albums
Now I know I'm gonna get all kinds of slander for that take, but just remember ya moms a hoe if you disagree.
|
| |
"in waves is their worst album"
Not when Vengeance Falls, Silence in the Snow and The Crusade all exist
|
| |
hopes dashed.
|
| |
Big stinker.
|
| |
winter is coming.
|
| |
Stinker is coming
|
| |
I will never understand what people see in this band
|
| |
production is kinda whack, way too mid heavy. Not that big of a fan of the vocals, song is ok.
|
| |
who's on mixing duties for this album. i already have questions
|
| |
Same producer (Josh Wilbur) since Sin and the Sentence. But I feel like the mix gets worse every album with him. Maybe it's Heafy calling the shots idk but it sounds off.
|
| |
i think sin and the sentence sounds fine, i think the albums since all the instruments sound kinda small and the guitars sound kinda boxy
what the dead men say sounds better than this or sin and the sentence in that regard though
|
| |
Sin and the Sentence sounds pretty decent to me. Drum sound was a bit weak but to compensate the bass tone was pretty massive. And since then every album sounds worse and worse. Still doesn't ruin the songs but there's something really weird about the mix of these two songs that I struggle to put into words.
|
| |
wait i meant silence in the snow whoops lmao
i think sin and the sentence the mids are really boxy and the mix doesn't feel very big or deep. this one sounds more scooped but the instruments just don't sound as good
|
| |
Silence in the Snow's mix kinda works but these drums are way too big and loud. Also the guitar tone on that is super weak to compensate for how loud the drums and bass are. Sounds great for the title track but the faster tracks sound weird.
|
| |
"can't believe Billy Corgan is in this band now"
lol
Decent song, but damn this man's vocals change with every song they put out or what?
|
| |
Yeah seems like he changes singing style every album kind of haha. I miss the Shogun vocal style but this works too.
|
| |
If this is the The Heart From Your Hate/Bleed Into Me of the album, then it should be another banger. The art and track titles have me hyped
|
| |
is this going to be a Klan-inspired album?
|
| |
Solid. More or less the obligatory 'pop' sounding song that they seem to insist on for their recent albums, but the first single still promises a really good album coming up.
|
| |
It's better than Bleed Into Me that's for sure. Really like the melodic/bass tapping part at the end.
|
| |
Not for me tbh, it seems like one the songs I will dislike from the album, it's always the same with these guys, 4 or 5 really good songs per album and that's it for me.
|
| |
first song was really cool, but this is merely serviceable
|
| |
