I literally just stopped what I was doing

Pretty straightforward track, but it's really solid. I love how the clean and distorted guitars blend together
|
| |
Joe Barresi from Tool and Isis fame ...holy fucking shit!
|
| |
November is TOO FAR AWAY ughhh
|
| |
Touch too much cheese for me.
|
| |
Such a lovely song. I like the fact that it's simplistic. This album is definitely going to have lots of diversity, and it'll make sense as a whole
Didn't listen to this until now. Enjoyed it, really love how warm it sounds

It's like he plays a full chord with both of them together. He's so intelligent with his use of guitar layering and tracking
|
| |
Lighter than the first track, still as good. They don't miss.
|
| |
"It's like he plays a full chord with both of them together. He's so intelligent with his use of guitar layering and tracking"
Agreed, perfect amount of sting
|
| |
First Fates album thread we might see you on more regularly bloc?? :O
|
| |
I wasn't much of a fan of the shorter catchy stuff from the last record (Seven Stars, Like Stars, White Flag, SOS) but this one has a certain class that I can dig. Also big props for the more elegant production
|
| |
That doesn't make any sense Sabrutin, considering your strong affection for Empire type songs....
|
| |
I won't call them bad but there's a certain "radio metal" element that rubs me the wrong way
|
| |
Loved the last album, but these singles have been quite meh for me, especially this one.
Especially as the album is 70+ minutes, I hope it gets a bit more exciting.
|
| |
This song felt like it had a lot more in common with the slower tracks on the first Engine album. I enjoy it, as I enjoy all FW but, I also know it wont end up being one of the best songs on the album
|
| |
1. "The Destination Onward" 8:12
2. "Shuttered World" 5:13
3. "Alone We Walk" 4:43
4. "Now Comes the Rain" 4:14
5. "The Way Home" 7:43
6. "Under the Sun" 5:49
7. "Scars" 5:04
8. "Begin Again" 4:05
9. "When Snow Falls" 4:15
10. "Liar" 4:23
11. "Glass Houses" 3:35
12. "The Longest Shadow of the Day" 11:29
13. "The Last Song" 3:50
The two singles are what they are, "singles." I'm pretty sure there are lots of interesting moments on the album, look at the song lengths, tells you a lot
|
| |
Really can't wait for this. Got both the vinyl and CD pre ordered. These guys seriously deserve more attention.
|
| |
"First Fates album thread we might see you on more regularly bloc?? :O"
Hahahaha this might be the one yeah. Although that tracklist looks mighty long.
|
| |
True but the songs are mostly pretty short, could be all bangers
|
| |
Total runtime looks to be over an hour. I know it's prog and shit, but that's already something that annoys me
|
| |
Yeah the average song length is what's putting me at ease, otherwise I wasn't too excited about the 70 minute runtime either. It's their longest by a stretch, but these dude's always try and focus on quality so hopefully it all makes sense in the full context of the album
|
| |
Surprised you didn't enjoy Theories that much bloc, would have thought it to be right up your alley. No wank, heavy and diverse
Maybe this is the album that spurs your Fates binge
|
| |
Oh dude I liked Theories a lot but it's been a long time since I've given it a listen
|
| |
Fates is one of those bands where it typically doesn't matter how long their songs are, they can usually pull it off
|
| |
True, they're good at making long songs sound shorter than they are
