Macaroom postpone album

2020-05-03 by Album Rating: 3.5 sputnik has become a cesspool of miserable old men who can't handle bands changing up their sound anymore. that and posers who are unable to find their own voice and enjoyment. STAFF | 10 Comments
The Japanese glitch-pop/indietronica group Macaroom have postponed release of their collaboration with Chiku Toshiaki, ukulele player for the avant-folk band Pascals. Their album Kodomono Odoriko was originally scheduled for an April 29th release date, but owing to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and national state of emergency, the album has been shifted to the end of May (with a further postponement possible).

In apology for this delay, the two artists have released the album's title track, complete with music video. The track showcases Macaroom's trademark ambient pop supporting Chiku's vocals.

Generally on board with this, and definitely more interested in the collab having heard it. Sounds like it could be a solid step forwards from Swimming Classroom.

Oooooh nice. I really liked this first single tbh. Didn’t even know this was on the horizon but now it’s definitely something to look forward to

Yeah lol I'm ashamed to admit I forgot this existed until this announcement - but now it's at the top of my 2020 hype list, so all good

HOLY SHIT when Chiku's voice came in...fuckin unmistakable. i cant believe they're doing a full collab album together, but i guess it's not totally outta nowhere since Macaroom did that Tama cover years ago

oh, on closer inspection, all the tracks on this album are reworks of old songs from Chiku's other projects (Tama, Pascals, and his solo work) except for the title track
