Mr. Bungle new album?

2020-02-29 by ZIG | 28 Comments
Mr. Bungle recently reunited for shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York, where they played their 1986 demo The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny, featuring Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo.

The band tweeted a picture of a mixing desk, suggesting they could be recording a follow-up to 1999’s California.

The name "Scott" appears on the desk, which suggests that Ian could be involved in the new recording.

That would be sick, California rules.

Wait, so there's no Trey Spruance in this line up?

Spruance is there too. Seen some photos of him and Ian in the studio.

I used to be in the camp of "don't record after the perfect swan song of California", but fuck it, let's hear new Mike Patton music

I think this has the potential to be great. Trey Spruance has been making incredible music with SC3 for years during/after Bungle. Mike Patton with his myriad of projects as well. I hope Trevor Dunn will be there on bass.

The last FNM release was pretty hit and miss. I hope they deliver on this one if the rumors are true, though.

I would wager this is just them mixing the recordings from their recent run of live shows, considering some songs from the set were songs they never recorded -- plus, to me, this is probably the only Bungle reunion we're ever likely to see.

Tool still hasn't announced who they're touring with for this next US leg. I'm quietly optimistic it's Mr. Bungle.

I mean it depends, are we talking about Anthrax or are we talking about Watchtower

with Ian onboard i'm thinking more just old Bungle-style simple goofy thrash. Not like they couldn't bang out an EP like that in a week just goofing around.
