c'mon zak, do the roar
| |
they don't have an established sound, genre-hopping is their thing. this post-hardcore lead single isn't an indication of the rest of the album, bet it will be another stylistic mess
| |
"they don't have an established sound"
They have a clear formula, this is far from what we come to expect from them, they do a little experimenting but at their core they're a pop band.
| |
what is their formula? they've had shoegaze, ambient, glitch etc. on their records. it's a jack of all trades deal, so it ain't that surprising they've added post-hardcore to the mix
| |
"they've had shoegaze, ambient, glitch etc."
source?
| |
shoegaze/post-rock - lostmyhead
idm/ambient/glitch - how to draw/petrichor
| |
Best tune they’ve done tbh.
Fake plastic shit but it’s improved fake plastic shit.
| |
Excited to hear this
| |
Oh I like it
| |
Bad
| |
That was good
| |
Bruh that video was siiiiick
| |
This was good. Matty's wig in the video wasn't
| |
Instrumental is pretty sweet. You'd think it was a QOTSA song or something if it was purely instrumental
| |
Is this gonna be the new Witness????
| |
fucking thank god, their last album had so much potential (i.e. "Love it if We Made it," "Sincerity Is Scary") and i'm glad that they're actually trying to push boundaries (albeit not that much) like they've advertised themselves as. excited for this record a lot more than A Brief Inquiry, hopefully Notes on a Conditional Form will be much more consistent and ambitious then Inquiry
| |
I loved this and absolutely hated their last album
| |
Not bad.
| |
God this is amazing
| |
Really fucking good smh
| |
Music video kicks ass too.. wow
| |
To me they've nailed every single style they've taken on - including this. (except maybe for the autotune-y ones)
| |
This is ok, but it looks like they're attempting to sound like Marilyn Manson
| |
Really don’t get the hype for this band. This song is better than their usual stuff, though. However, the vocals and instruments don’t really mesh together very well imo
| |
Heard this on the radio last night. Banger!
Just checking out their back catalogue, scratching my head.

top tier comment

Not good, try hard attempt to be edgy
| |
I feel like their political message finally matches their execution. I love the lyrics on this one. WELL MY GENERATION WANNA, F*** BARRACK OBAMA, LIVIN' IN A SAUNA WITH LEGAL MARIJUANA.
| |
huh, that was not as bad as I feared
| |
i liked this a lot
| |
oh hell yes
| |
this pretentious dick wouldn't know post-hardcore if Buddy Nielsen shoved a microphone up his anus
| |
I can dig it. That music video is fucking great! Never actually listened to their discography, but props to them for doing something completely different and doing it surprisingly well
| |
first 1975 track I actually listened to and Im impressed. Nice mixture between old school post hardcore and dance punk. definitely my kinda shit
| |
They do most genres super well if you enjoy danceable as hell pop music with (mostly) great lyrics and performances.
On another note, their reading/leads performance of this is absolutely ridiculous.
| |
I like danceable punk to a certain extent, couldn't care less about pop tho

ECONOMY'S A GONER
REPUBLIC'S A BANANA
IGNORE IT IF YOU WANNA

| |

i just wished he screamed the hook one more time
rr
| |
Love it
| |
...if they made it?
I regret nothing
