New/Old Mac Miller Song

2019-06-21 by Rowan5215 STAFF | 11 Comments
Out of the potentially endless vault of recently deceased rapper/singer/producer/musician Mac Miller today has come an official new song for the first time since his death in 2018. "That's Life", produced by 88-Keys, likely gestated in the year of recording for GO:OD AM (during which it was rumoured that Mac produced up to six full albums) and was reworked by 88-Keys following Mac's death for final release.

"That's Life" first made its way to the public, in addition to several other songs from various eras of Mac Miller, a few weeks ago in the raw form of a leak. This previous version featured an extended intro and outro with Miller, no appearance from Sia, less horns and more piano in the beat, overall appearing far less polished and radio-friendly than the released version. This final "That's Life" is the first official public release of a Mac Miller song since his final album, 2018's Swimming, although a verse of his appeared on The Free National's "Time" just last week. Hear both songs below and purchase them via links in the YouTube descriptions.

have you checked Faces, sint? if there’s one mac project that is pretty much universally respected, and is its own unique statement compared to the rest of his full lengths, it’s 100% Faces. Since it’s essentially a long concept album about drug abuse and spiraling into near-insanity. it’s the only project of Mac that i would genuinely recommend to everyone

the raw version of this was honestly a lot more powerful, especially with Mac goofing around on the piano to start the song. this is a great lesson on how to polish something like that up for a single release and still be respectful tho
