twin peaks walked so the black keys could run
| |
Yeah, that is not a good album title.
| |
Actually pretty excited for this. I enjoyed both singles so far and it sounds like they're going back to more of a stadium rock sound like El Camino, which is easily my favorite release of theirs.
| |
Yeah fucking horrible album title. Couldn’t come up with anything better? For serious?
| |
the music is good tho
| |
I generally hate most of their music, but I really don't mind this song.
Chulahoma is still without a doubt the best thing they've ever done though
| |
"Let's rock" next to an electric chair. 70s random bad taste.
| |
yeah album title sucks
what about the songs
| |
@oWhoadYo agreed, Chulahoma is fantastic.
| |
@sowing fair enough. I’m not a big Black Keys fan so I’ll reserve further comment.
| |
The title/cover is actually a reference to Edmund Zagorski who said let's rock before getting the electric chair. Still dumb since you have to have that explained to get it, but at least it isn't just random shit I guess.
| |
Lol not trying to silence anyone I'm just curious what y'all think of this song
I'm a black keys fan so maybe I'm just more excited than most ppl
| |
New songs are good. Sounds about like most of their material from the last few albums, tho.
I think at this point I have enough of their stuff, and if they don't try going to a different direction, I am not really going to get excited about anything new from them.
| |
yeah it's a reference to the Zagorski guy, but also the closing track is called Fire Walk With Me
| |
Ahh thanks for the explanation impoppy. I actually kinda like that but most people won’t know that.
| |
I just still can’t believe that Modest Mouse are OPENING for these guys. It isn’t even a co-headlining tour, right?
| |
why are they even touring together that seems like such a mismatch lmao
| |
Yeah especially considering how many garagey 70s-throwback acts are kicking around these days
| |
Eagle birds?
Are those like horse mammals?
Or shark fish?
| |
Agreed sowing. Now Modest Mouse And Brand New — that was a brilliant match.
Does anyone know whether they were co-headliners on that tour, or did BN open for MM?
| |
I think they alternated Larkinhill
| |
Apparently "Let's Rock" was the last words of a double murderer before he was fried on the electric chair. I'm not a huge fan of the title, but it has more depth than people here tend to be giving it, it's not one dimensional.
| |
I like their older stuff more, but this is okay I guess.
| |
This is much MUCH better than the last song. I didn't like the last one at all. Great riff.
| |
i don't like these guys at all but it's hilarious to me how many of the commenters are just like "wow what a lame album name" as though the band with no irony whatsoever thought "Let's Rock" was really cool.
| |
Riff is great, don't hear guitar tones like that much these days. Vocals are pretty lame imo. Overall song is fine, nothing to write home about.
