Hated it at first but it's growing on me. Guitar riff is way too repetitive tho, even for the 1975. Mixing is kinda shot as well but the chorus is catchy.
Also it's been confirmed to be two albums they're making. A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationship is for October 2018 and Notes on a Conditional Form is for May next year.

These lyrics are awful :/
| |
I'm quite a fan of The 1975, but I honestly can't get into this one. Pretty repetitive and directionless most of the time, nothing special. Hopefully what they release later will be more interesting.
| |
yeah the rift is so loud and borderline grating.
| |
I’d rather not.
| |
this is outright atrocious
| |
Mixing is kinda shot [2]
Which is sad because outside of Healy's vox it could have been moderately okay with a bass bump and getting rid of that weird electronic drum static
| |
'this is outright atrocious' (2)
And the guy sounds like a right douche in his interviews, no self-awareness whatsoever.
| |
He does need to stop saying this is gonna the band's OK Computer, yeah
| |
this is about as far from ok computer as the jonas brothers are from ok computer
| |
No. I won't.
| |
i like it
| |
more like OK Cockputer
| |
Shite
| |
*Band is kinda shot
| |
"Also it's been confirmed to be two albums they're making. A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationship is for October 2018 and Notes on a Conditional Form is for May next year."
cheers, added to the article.
I think the song is catchy and fun, which given the band its from, is all i expected and wanted.
| |
The video comes off as pretentious and the guitar tone really is grating. Certainly going to need more from this album, this song is simple and catchy but it's also not very good.
| |
I think I'll pass thanks
| |
I hate it when a band says their album is going to be their equivalent of *insert highly acclaimed album here*. It's pretentious as all hell and you can almost guarantee that it's either going to be painfully average or absolutely atrocious.
| |
We’ll they’re a pretentious band so...
| |
This might be the worst thing they've put out yet. That main "riff" just started to kill me halfway through the song.
| |
I actually enjoy much of the framework of this track: production, verses, tone, but damn everything else is so unmemorable. Like its striving to be blissful but does so in such a grating manner.
| |
I can’t secide if I love or hate this.
| |
These guys are a gimmick that just won't fucking die
| |
It sounds like fucking metro station.
| |
"It sounds like fucking metro station."
but less catchy
| |
oh christ, I actually listened to this. Is this fairly representative of their usual stuff? because this is atrocious.
| |
Damn, I'm not exactly a fan of this band but I really like this. Seems like I'm the only one.
| |
regret
| |
What the fuck is music now?
| |
After listening a few more times I’ve decided I do like it but it really would benefit from 1. having the vocals a bit higher in the mix and 2. using a less obnoxious guitar tone
| |
Matt Healy with his after-school special PSA: "Getting STDs at 27 really isn't the vibe"
| |
Who thought it was ok to put that guitar in as the main riff
| |
Man I don’t think this is bad, it’s a very freaky type of pop and I love that kind of pop.
Overall, I think this is a very good track.
| |
"Getting STDs at 27 really isn't the vibe"
Fucking lol
| |
Decent song, video is atrocious. Their first album was pretty good tho.
| |
he looks like the bastard lovechild of tim minchin and gerard way
| |
my left ear isn't happy with this
| |
Damn this shit is catchy lol
| |
Disorder
| |
Holy balls that was obnoxious and horrible. The guitar tone was so bad I couldn't even get through it on the first listen, and the lyrics are pretentious millennial BS. And I actually dug some of their earlier singles. They must have their heads deeply entrenched in their asses to think this is on par with OK Computer.
| |
That guitar tone is hideous.
| |
Probably the worst single they've ever dropped and the worst single of the year. The song has zero build, the vocals have no variation or power, the production is hollow, the lyrics are shit, and the guitar sounds like someone in a music store playing his best attempt at Sweet Child Of Mine on a $150 Squire Strat with preset distortion. And why is it so fucking high in the mix. And why doesn't it change.
Like even ONCE why doesn't that riff change
| |
Band is fucking hurrendous
| |
terrible band
| |
isn't this one of those one direction bands only preteen girls like
| |
Ya that guitar tone holy fuck it actually hurt my head. This song would actually be catchy if that was fixed lol
| |
MCR in 2018
| |
From someone who really doesn't like this band....this hasn't changed a thing. I'll admit that there is a good song buried in here somewhere but that riff just screeches along, there is zero build so it feels like it just flatlines, and the lyrics and melody sounds like they're drunk and dizzy.
| |
'Like even ONCE why doesn't that riff change' (x 4,000)
There are many reasons to bash this, but that's simply put this is my main beef with the composition, then when coupled with how awful that riff actually sounds the result is predictably awful.
I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the worst things I've ever heard.
| |
only enjoy a few singles from this band and while this isnt their best, its enjoyable enough to replay a few times. i enjoy the riff
| |
this is really fucking annoying
| |
I really dig the 1975 and found this to be really bad
| |
I like this band, I like this song, I HATE that the guitar literally hurts my ear
| |
Gave it a try and i wish i didn't. I mean i never liked Paramore but this is a new low for them
| |
Plexiglass guitars look dope though
| |
Liked some songs from their two albums, but not too crazy about this. Like everyone is saying, that guitar part is a bit grating
| |
the riff is basically disorder made worse
| |
Sounds like they bought garageband
| |
These lyrics are cringeworthy
| |
I take it you can grow a beard easily
| |
Why do I like this
| |
Yeah it was stuck in my head today lol
| |
